Utterly evil this scene. An Insidious film has not had the right to be this scary since the first one.
"Formulaic". They literally fucking created the formula.
*deep inhale*
Guys, it’s The Beatles.
Formulaic music that got hyped into genius status by a perfect storm of timing and savvy media, not actual skill. Expert exploitation of trends already pioneered by others.
They’re a marketing phenomenon that got called the greatest because they sold a lot of records to herd-mentality teenagers, not because the music itself was ever the most advanced, demanding, or enduring rock ever made.
So jealous he got to do that 😩

Last night, Michael Stipe sang R.E.M.’s “E-Bow The Letter” and his Big Red Machine collab “No Time For Love Like Now” with the National’s Matt Berninger and Aaron and Bryce Dessner. It was part of AB100, a two-day festival celebrating the Dessners’ 50th birthday in the Basque region. Stipe hadn’t performed “E-Bow,” originally recorded with Patti Smith, in 17 years. Last week he said his long-awaited debut solo album will come in 2027, with the first single dropping minutes into the new year.

Of everything they've ever done, and I love it all, this is easily the best Vic and Bob sketch.

There should a be a legal limit put on how many times a human being has to hear Sweet Caroline, and that should be once.
Everything about this tweet tears me in half
Everybody gets really pissed off when I say this and it causes World War III on Twitter, but what the hell. Everything said about Pet Sounds is true. For three songs. Wouldn't it be nice. Sloop John B. God Only Knows. Those three are amazing. Which is the pattern of all of the Beach Boys' albums when they are not including previously released tracks. The difference is these three songs are historic productions creatively, which had the wonderful unexpected result of pushing the Beatles to their greatest work. And that is obviously something the world can be grateful for. But all due respect to the masses that worship it, the rest of the album doesn't do a thing for me. There is no Beatles, Stones, Byrds, Kinks, or Who album that track for track doesn't have more great songs on it. It's not a close call. Having said that, the best thing about Art in general is it is the gift that keeps on giving, because one's perception of it changes from time to time. So maybe five years from now I will finally get it. Like everybody else.
He's written a modern American classic here. Everything is perfection. This new album had the potential to fail in every way, but it's like an extension of Pressure Machine and he nailed it. I'm convinced he's the most beautiful man on the planet too.
