Not sure how you qualify for this list, but @TheArgumentMag + friends livestream started at like 60K and increased to 135K by the time we called it quits after midnight.
Individual live streamers and new media are drawing massive viewership for the midterm results. A snapshot of viewership for the top 24 (combined across platforms like YouTube, Twitch, Rumble, Kick, etc.)

Today in Capital Commonsense—@charlesallen is holding a markup on the bill to allow Waymo 11/9. He has secured big concessions and by creating competition with Uber/Lyft there’s evidence that they pay their drivers MORE in cities with Waymo. More from @AVGregR. open.substack.com/pub/capita…

This does not make me feel good about the next administration being serious about corruption and ethics. Bleak.
CM @trayonwhite speaks at @Janeese4DC watch party. He says JLG is “anointed and appointed.” He also says the process should be respected and the DC Dems should be the ones to name the next member of the council.

In 2024, the big red light for me that Democrats were gonna lose was Hidalgo County. @Madrid_mike and were live when Gina Hinojosa and James Talarico won.

A lot of people talk about how suburban whites in Georgia have moved to the left. But Georgia is largely competitive because of an influx of Hispanics into places like Gwinnett County. In 2008, Obama lost Gwinnett County by 10 points. He lost it by about nine in 2012. But in 2016, Gwinnett flipped to vote for Clinton. In 2024, Kamala Harris won it by 16 points. #GAPol #GASen

The final @SplitTicket_/@TheArgumentMag model update, run with today's polls. Senate: 53D-47R (77% 🟦) House: 239D-196R (92% 🟦) The data unambiguously says something. It's just that nobody seems to actually believe it. We'll see if that's warranted. theargumentmag.com/p/split-t…

I appreciate people getting involved in local politics but in a city that's 90% Democrats, where the party org not only doesn't have to perform but hasn't even gotten around to setting up an email domain... idk man. Why is it important that these folks get this pick again?
Henderson's move sets her up to run for higher office without losing her seat, but could cost the DC Dems the power to pick an interim CM. They are NOT happy. "She wants to have her cake and eat it too," says one Dem. "And she's willing to trample on the party to do it."

Janeese Lewis George officially becomes Mayor-elect today and while she will immediately face tough decisions, the most important one will be whether she chooses the governing path of the progressive pragmatist (Mamdani) or ideological true believer (Johnson.) She should choose the Mamdani path—it’s the successful—and popular—one. My piece for @CityCast_DC dc.citycast.fm/opinion/advic…

Runs towards the only defender lol. Diabolical.
Never forget when Michael Vick juked out the entire Boston College defense for an 80-yard TD run 🤯

The premise of this fund appears to be that the new administration will appoint folks to senior positions who don’t have the necessary experience and expertise—and who are leaving nonprofits behind that can’t survive without help from donors trying to ingratiate themselves with the new mayor.
Pretty good scoop from @jackiepeiser: Major philanthropic foundation is shopping a $2k fund that would fund @Janeese4DC transition, train appointees, and bankroll the nonprofits whose leaders it imagines might get top jobs. dc.citycast.fm/dc-politics/w…

DC has a kind of broad but fairly superficial pro-housing political consensus at this point, and I'm hoping the new regime can actually dig in and deliver on some of these kind of high-impact reforms. But also gotta address "inclusionary" zoning. capitalcommonsense.com/p/end…
Pittsburgh City Council voted unanimously this week to eliminate minimum parking and floor-area ratio (FAR) requirements for all new development citywide, one of several reforms aimed at making it easier to build housing. 📍Pittsburgh, PA

Exclusionary zoning is bad. But "inclusionary zoning," rather than being the opposite of bad exclusionary zoning, is just the same old exclusionary barriers to multifamily housing given a new name. Just say no! open.substack.com/pub/capita…

I think the next few years are going to be rough for D.C. But it's also important to remember that, if we actually play our cards right, this city still has incredible potential. Even post-DOGE, the District's economic makeup is still playing in its favor.
