Nevada claimed all voters on the DHS list were U.S. citizens. Wrong. It did not check and instead relied on voter attestations. Now, the Nevada U.S. Attorney’s office has started charging the individuals on the list. States must comply with federal law. Allowing noncitizens to vote in federal elections is illegal and unconstitutional.

DOJ doesn’t work for District Judges.
A federal judge told the Justice Department its threats against California's election officials "must stop." That was Wednesday night. By Thursday afternoon, Bloomberg Law reported, the deputy attorney general's office had ordered its California prosecutors to send those same officials grand jury subpoenas. The judge is David Carter in Los Angeles. He refused to make California set aside the 20,000 mail ballots the Justice Department says went to likely noncitizens. Election Day is Tuesday. Page 26 of his order: "There is a clear remedy available. The United States can prosecute individuals according to Section 611," the federal law that makes it a crime for a noncitizen to vote. So the department took the remedy and widened it. Not just the voters. The OFFICIALS, Secretary of State Shirley Weber among them, on the department's theory that anyone who knowingly counts a noncitizen's ballot is aiding and abetting a federal crime. That theory is the threat the judge said had to stop. Asked about it, the department "does not comment on leaks about alleged grand jury subpoenas. But to be clear, the district court judge explained that voting unlawfully results in criminal exposure." They are quoting him back to him. The courtroom was his. The grand jury room is not. 💎

My first week using Grokbot I'm blown away. Tonight I got tickets for a concert with the kids with 70 punk bands and told Grokbot to build a Youtube playlist of the top songs to send the kids. It took me 30 seconds đŸ€Ż Moreover, doing it by hand would have taken so long I wouldn't have done it and the kids would have no idea who the bands are đŸ€Ż

The center of the Brazil story is not Flavio Bolsonaro but rather Alexandre de Moraes, who has utterly destroyed the credibility of the Brazilian justice system and its democracy through years of escalating persecution against critics, dissidents and political opponents, all while the Brazilian left celebrated him for doing it. That's why countries now routinely reject Brazil's extradition requests in Moraes' cases, and why international media has continuously warned of Brazilian authoritarianism as a result of the censorship and imprisonment regime that the Brazilian left built with Moraes as its leader. (And all of that is separate from the massive corruption scandal he's at the middle of, where his family received $40 million from the corrupt billionaire who caused Brazil's largest-ever banking collapse). If you don't start your "reporting" about the Bolsonaro/US case by emphasizing that it was Moraes who ordered Bolsonaro's passport seized and banned him from leaving the country -- as an obvious prelude to arresting him even though he's been charged with no crimes -- then there's no way to understand what happened here let alone explain to readers and viewers why Flavio Bolsonaro would never have gotten anything remotely resembling a fair trial.
FlĂĄvio Bolsonaro joins numerous dissident Brazilian journalists, bloggers and opinion makers who have gone into exile rather than risk prison. on.wsj.com/3W28tIS

BREAKING: Enoch Burke confronts Archbishop John McDowell in Armagh - “A traitor to the Church of Ireland ethos” Today Enoch Burke, the teacher who was suspended from the Church of Ireland’s Wilson’s Hospital School in Co. Westmeath, confronted the Primate of All Ireland, Church of Ireland Archbishop John McDowell at his Cathedral and See House in Armagh. Archbishop McDowell acts as Patron of Wilson’s Hospital School. In 2022, the School commanded all teachers at the school to refer to a student by a new name and the “they” pronoun. Enoch Burke refused to do so. He was suspended by the Board of Management. Enoch Burke today asked the Primate why he had been silent while he had languished in prison for over 700 days. “I have languished in a prison cell for upholding the Church of Ireland ethos,” he said, “and for refusing to forsake Scriptural truth. What do you have to say about the Archbishop? You are silent, your lips are sealed.” He noted that the Church of Ireland doctrine that the Archbishop is sworn to uphold is “man and woman, male and female.” Archbishop McDowell first attempted to flee the scene. He then walked out of the gates of the Cathedral and into his residence, the See House, saying he was “going about his lawful business” and refusing to provide any answer. He was accompanied by the Dean of the Cathedral who sought to shield the Archbishop from answering questions. “Look at this man, his lips are silent; this is what he does, this is what he gets away with while this [transgenderism] is being promoted in every school, in Wilson’s Hospital School,” Enoch Burke said, “You will not get away with that Archbishop McDowell.” The encounter ended when Archbishop John McDowell and his Dean disappeared into the See House and slammed the door. Archbishop John McDowell is the reason why Enoch Burke has spent over 700 days in prison and counting. The people of the Church of Ireland should not be deceived by this man who is sworn to maintain the Church of Ireland ethos and doctrine but is silent when the affirmation of transgenderism is forced upon the teachers and students of Church of Ireland schools.

I'm sure there are more than 50 lawsuits filed against the Trump Admin. in the D.C. District Court. Here are Judges I know assigned to them -- this is not a comprehensive list: Judge Reyes -- Golf course and transgender military and ending TPS for Haiti. Judge Leon -- Ballroom Judge Kelly -- White House Press restrictions Judge McFadden -- James Comey prosecution Judge Lamberth -- trans prisoner medical policy in BOP. Judge Cobb -- immigration detention Judge Jackson -- firing of Independent Commissioners Judge Cooper -- Kennedy Center renaming Judge Ali -- freezing foreign policy aid spending Judge Nichols -- mass firing of USAID workers and US Postal Regulation re election mail. Judge Chutken -- efforts to restrain DOGE Judge Kollar-Kotelly -- cutting off DOGE from access to Dept. of Treasury records. Judge Snooknanan -- barring use of SAVE database for entitlement eligibility due to inaccuracies. Judge AliKahn -- freezing of non-profit grants until re-evaluated by Trump Admin. Judge Moss -- ending NPR and PBS funding. Judge Howell -- termination of NLRB board members without cause. Judge Friedrich -- Executive Orders barring Govt from working with certain law firms. That's 16 of them -- there are currently 25 District Judges, regular and Senior, hearing cases in DC and all of them have had "Lawfare" cases assigned to them.
genuinely curious does anyone know why exactly the entire trump legal agenda seems to run through boasberg's court

Kara Swisher adds DOGE's "Big Balls" to the Democrat target list. "They could just pick a few people. To me, that's the way you go. You pick like a Hegseth, a Musk, and I don't know, Big Balls." "Rather than go for Trump, go for everybody." "Make it so broad that exhausts people who just do want to move on." They're now just casually naming random people that did things they didn't like. The ever-growing investigation wishlist now includes Trump family, donors, friends, supporters, allies and DOGE employees. And it won't stop there.

Adam Carolla says it took 10 DAYS before he heard about the concealed carry dad who ran into his daughters’ elementary school and took down the shooter. He thought about it, and he knows exactly why it didn’t get more airtime. “IT F*CKS UP EVERY THEME THEY HAVE ABOUT GUN OWNERSHIP.” CAROLLA: “That was the first time I’ve ever seen a picture of this guy [Kaylub Giamanco], heard him talk.” “He says, ‘I didn’t save enough kids, and I’m sorry to the parents of the kids who I couldn’t save.’ And now he can’t sleep at night because he can still hear the screams of the children begging for their lives.” This man should be a household name. A national hero. But as Carolla explains, his story wrecks the picture of gun owners the media wants in your head. “The theme of the dad who wanted to protect his kids ... and put an end to this school shooter is NOT a theme they like.” “MSNBC, CNN, LA Times, THEY HATE THIS STORY.” Daniel Penny, meanwhile? CAROLLA: “That guy is everywhere because they love the theme of a blonde-haired guy choking out a black guy.” When a story doesn’t fit the narrative, you never hear about it. When it does, it’s all you hear about.

This is an odd argument by an appellate court to make. The Exec. branch either has the authority to conduct the operations as it sees fit or it does not. Whether it has justification for doing so over the next 5 days that makes the Judges happy is irrelevant to the question of authority. Voters have a vote on the policy considerations -- Judges do not.
NEW: A federal appeals court appears likely to reject the Trump administration's bid to immediately resume an ICE enforcement surge aimed at "unlawful voters" that civic gorups say is really about spooking naturalized citizens. w/ @joshgerstein politico.com/news/2026/10/29

Margaret Brennan basically told Bari Weiss to screw off when Weiss said on the daily CBS News editorial call that they need to stay on the Alaska Democrats-Mary Peltola-Dan J. Sullivan story. AMAZING.
Fox is reporting that CBS's Face the Nation host Margaret Brennan was one of those objecting to pursuing the Peltola scandal. Brennan allegedly compared a decoy candidate to voters being confused by different Sununu brothers who have run for office... foxnews.com/media/bari-weiss

In 1952, an English teacher named Cecil Dormand secretly paid for a dirt-poor 11-year-old to take a drama course. He never told him and the boy didn’t find out until decades later. By then, he was a knight, that little boy’s name was Patrick Stewart. He was born into a poor family in Mirfield, a small mill town in Yorkshire and his father came home from World War II a violent man, and he was violent toward Patrick’s mother. Young Patrick learned exactly when to step between his father’s fist and his mother. An English teacher put a copy of Shakespeare in his hand and told him to get up and perform. He never stopped and left school at 15. By 19 he was completely bald... most agencies told him he'd never make it because of that. In 1987, the LA Times called him an “unknown British Shakespearean actor” when he was cast as Captain Picard. Then he became one of the most famous faces on Earth. You’ve probably heard that part. Here’s the part you haven’t: He spent decades as a patron of Refuge, sheltering women and children from domestic violence. But he never stopped trying to understand his father. He dug up a 1940 newspaper clipping that said his dad had come home with severe shell shock. He went to France and walked the ground where his father’s unit was pinned down under bombing for hours. He learned his father had PTSD, and nobody ever helped him. So Patrick became an ambassador for Combat Stress, a charity that helps veterans. In 2013, a young woman at a Texas convention told him she was a survivor of domestic violence. He asked, “My dear, are you okay?” Then he hopped off the stage, held her, and told her: “You never have to go through that again, you’re safe now.” At Dragon Con, a Make-A-Wish girl dressed as Spock came to meet him. 2,000 people were waiting for him to speak... he sat down and talked with her for 15 minutes, making all of them wait. He told her that since they were friends now, whenever she saw him on screen she could wave and say, “Hello Patrick.” After 9/11, he felt helpless, so he brought his one-man A Christmas Carol back to Broadway for a full week of charity shows. He played every character himself and donated every cent. In 2019 he did it again, and every dollar went to feeding hungry New Yorkers. In 2017, he fostered a pit bull named Ginger, who had been rescued from a dogfighting ring. She was his first dog in more than 50 years. He couldn’t bring her home to England, so he found her a family. Then he kept fostering more. When he said he was done with Star Trek so many people told him the show had gotten them through the hardest times of their lives. So he wanted to see if Picard could do it one more time. Rest in Peace, Sir Patrick 🖖

Seemed sort of obvious this was the direction California's resistance was going to lead. Calif and US law both make it illegal for non-citizens to vote. Calif refuses to do anything to enforce its law other than ask the person to check a box. Now DOJ will find out what it is California officials are talking about when they think no one else is watching.

Democrats love democracy so much they recruited a second Dan Sullivan to trick voters into voting for the wrong one đŸ€Ą
First, billionaire John Arnold helped bankroll Alaska's ranked-choice voting system.
