Fab day on the Strand with wonderful dogs and their human. Lots of support from the passers by too.

Good morning, Annie @Thunderoad75 & thank you, as always. I know that you've seen this one before but, if it is foggy in London this morning, this might be suitable. This is "Lambeth Bridge" by Elwin Hawthorne from 1934. As you'll see from Elwin's notes "painted on a misty day"!
It is November and a grey foggy day here on the banks of the Thames in East london. Thanks as always for marking the year's progress with this piece of calm sunshine from @EastLndonGroup .

It is #SundayMorning, once again so here's our long-standing, traditional start to the day. This is "Sunday Morning, Farringdon Road" by Cecil Osborne from the first Group show at Alex. Reid & Lefevre galleries in 1929. It is in the collection at Brighton & Hove Museums.

The UK. A place where, if you give an old person holding a placard a drink of water, you're a terrorist.

This week’s Bill on building safety and cladding remediation is welcome, especially if that gaps in it can be closed.
Leaseholders and residents deserve a comprehensive solution in the law that will finally bring an end to the remediation ordeal.

Not 1 single enquiry. We don’t know why. So sorry Odin, we will keep trying for you.
This lovely lad hasn’t had any enquiries 😞 can you please share to help him on his way?
Odin is a beautiful 3 year old male Border Collie. He is available and looking for a new home.
Sadly due to the owners health , Odin needs someone who can provide him the stimulation and attention he needs. He is very much loved but would be best in a home with someone who can give him lots of walks and attention.
He is chipped and neutered and healthy with no concerns.
Odin can be wary of strangers to begin with and would need a little time to get use to anyone new.
He is okay with some pets and can be wary of others - due to this, he’d be best in a home with no other pets to save him any unsettlement.
Odin eats dry and wet food and is also crate trained.
He loves toys and can be strong on the lead.
Odin has had the same owner since being a pup.
He isn’t a fan of the hoover but does love to play with a ball.
He is more of a fan of women than men, so may be best with a lone female looking for company, although we will consider male households too.
Odin is very loving and affectionate. No cats.
For more information or to offer Odin a new home please email directly to [email protected]

Good morning, Annie @Thunderoad75 & thank you, as always. As you say, it is decidely "blowy" out there today so here's one which mich be appropriate with #StormBoelo in all our minds: this is "Rough Sea, Dorset Coast" by John Cooper from 1934. #JohnCooper #LymeRegis #Dorset
Sunny and blustery here on the banks of the Thames in East London. A very windy and wet day yesterday here in London. Thanks as always for our moment of calm in this painting @EastLndonGroup . Stay safe all.

Good afternoon, Annie @Thunderoad75 & thank you, as always. My apologies for such a tardy response. I know you've seen this one before but it is such a great image & I covet it deeply! This is "Blackwall" by Harold Steggles from the collection at Hereford Museum. #HaroldSteggles
A gloriously sunny but chilly day here by the Thames on the Isle Of Dogs E14. River is calm with a lowish tide. This peaceful Sunday painting marks our journey through the year. Thanks to @EastLndonGroup

Another #SundayMorning has arrived so here's our traditional start to the day (first posted on Twitter on 01/06/14): this is "Sunday Morning, Farringdon Road" by Cecil Osborne from 1929. It is in the collection at Brighton & Hove Museums, where it is currently on display.
Desperately sad to see loads of dead octopi in @LidlGB freezer section today. Incredibly intelligent beautiful creatures. We really are the death of this planet!
Just picked up a Sally Rooney book from the library. They only had one otherwise I would have got more. Never read any of hers but intend to start now. #farenheit451

I thought I'd seen it all, but...
There's a rather impressive poo coming through the #ThamesBarrier this morning.

Televising a public execution is beyond disgusting and barbaric. The death penalty should not exist, let alone be a live-streamed spectacle.
This is a grotesque violation of human dignity. We must oppose this - and the death penalty - everywhere.

Good morning, Annie @Thunderoad75 & thank you, as always. As you say today is the 90th anniversary of the Battle of Cable Street. Albert Turpin was amongst the many thousands of people present on the day & he was arrested during commotion. In 1946 he became Mayor of Bethnal Green
October, how did that happen? Back from the wilds of the Northumbrian coast to the beautiful Thames in East London and a reminder that today is the 90th Anniversary of the Battle Of Cable Street. Thanks @EastLndonGroup for celebrating all the amazing East Enders .

Tony Blair has dismissed the phrase "Free Palestine", saying that Palestinians need a solution, not slogans.
Palestinians need Tony Blair to stay away from Gaza.
The solution is an end to the occupation - and we will never stop until there is real freedom for Palestine.

Good morning, Annie @Thunderoad75 & thank you, as always. I hadn't heard about the pilot whales in the Thames: I hope they'll be Ok. Also in the collection at Brighton & Hove Museums, here's "Wharf Houses" by Harold Steggles from c.1930 (the eastern elevation of Bryant & May)
