Why can't I go more than a month without my @PPLElectric power going out? They raised their rates to improve reliability but it's worse. Power goes out in calm weather. @ssigafoos @MollyBilinski @LVwithLove @lehighvalley

Is it my imagination or are the fireworks shows closing @Musikfest getting shorter every year? On Sunday they started at 9:58 and ended at 10:05. I didn't know I was seeing the finale until the show stopped. @ssigafoos @whitebil @MollyBilinski @cjmoren01

Anyone who is planning to rent a boat to drive on Lake Wallenpaupack for the first time on a sunny weekend should know that the experience is like driving a car with no brakes on a giant parking lot with no lines. @ssigafoos @cjmoren01 @69News @onwithjohnwx @MollyBilinski

First time renters should pin the marina location on their phone GPS. You will travel miles away on the water, and the shoreline all looks the same from the middle of the lake if you're not familiar with it. We've actually gave directions to the marina for a boater on the lake.

WFMZ spends too much time on the south side covering @Musikfest. The real Musikfest experience is on the north side. On the south side, Musikfest is just another musical event on the SteelStacks schedule. That's not a bad thing, it's just not special. @ssigafoos @whitebil

So PennDOT gives advance notice that there will be a lane closure on PA33 starting July 10, and routes detour traffic to Main St. and Sullivan Trail/Rt115. And some genius decides this would be a good time to do lane construction at that intersection. @ssigafoos @cjmoren01

We are called "the elderly." But that quiet label hides something most people rarely stop to consider. We are the last living witnesses of a world that no longer exists. Look at us and you might see gray hair, slower steps, and the patience that time teaches. But listen to our story — really listen — and you'll realize something extraordinary. We are the only generation in human history to have lived a fully analog childhood and a fully digital adulthood. That's not a small thing. That's one of the most breathtaking journeys a human being has ever been asked to make. We were born in the 1940s, 50s, and early 60s, into a world still rebuilding from the rubble of World War II. Our toys were marbles and hopscotch and card games at kitchen tables. When the streetlights flickered on, that was it — childhood adventures were over, and it was time to go home. No smartphones. No streaming. No endless scroll. We built our memories in the real world. With scraped knees and laughter echoing down streets and friendships formed face to face. In 1969, we sat in living rooms staring at black-and-white televisions as Neil Armstrong took humanity's first steps on the Moon. Hundreds of thousands of us stood in muddy fields at Woodstock believing — really believing — that music and community could reshape the future. We fell in love to vinyl records spinning on turntables. We waited days, sometimes weeks, for handwritten letters to arrive. We learned patience because information didn't come instantly. Mistakes were fixed with erasers — not a delete button. Then the world transformed. Machines that once filled entire rooms shrank to devices lighter than a paperback. We went from rotary phones and party lines to seeing the face of someone we love on the other side of the ocean — instantly, on something that fits in a pocket. We watched the birth of the personal computer. The arrival of the internet. The smartphone. Artificial intelligence. And through every single shift — we adapted. Not because it was easy. Because that's what our generation does. We also carry the weight of history in our bodies. We grew up afraid of polio and tuberculosis. We watched science defeat them. We witnessed the discovery of the structure of DNA, the decoding of the human genome, the transformation of medicine itself. We survived pandemics across decades — and kept going. Few generations have been asked to absorb so much change in a single lifetime. And through all of it, certain things never changed. We still know the joy of a cold glass of lemonade on a hot afternoon. The taste of vegetables picked straight from a garden. The value of a long conversation that unfolds slowly, without a screen interrupting it. We have celebrated births and mourned losses. Carried the stories of friends who are gone. Watched the world become something our younger selves couldn't have imagined — and found ways to belong in it anyway. We are not relics. We are living bridges between two entirely different worlds. Our memory carries something the modern world needs — proof that progress doesn't have to erase wisdom. That speed doesn't have to replace patience, kindness, or reflection. So when someone calls us elderly, we can smile. Because behind that word is something remarkable. We crossed two centuries. Witnessed eight decades of transformation. Walked from handwritten letters to artificial intelligence — and never lost our sense of what actually matters.

"In my life, I have watched John Kennedy talk on television about missiles in Cuba. I saw Lyndon Johnson look Richard Russell squarely in the eye and and say, "And we shall overcome." I saw Richard Nixon resign and Gerald Ford tell the Congress that our long national nightmare was over. I saw Jimmy Carter talk about malaise and Ronald Reagan talk about a shining city on a hill. I saw George H.W. Bush deliver the eulogy for the Soviet bloc, and Bill Clinton comfort the survivors of Timothy McVeigh's madness in Oklahoma City. I saw George W. Bush struggle to make sense of it all on September 11, 2001, and I saw Barack Obama sing 'Amazing Grace' in the wounded sanctuary of Mother Emanuel Church in Charleston, South Carolina. "These were the presidents of my lifetime. These were not perfect men. They were not perfect presidents, god knows. Not one of them was that. But they approached the job, and they took to the podium, with all the gravitas they could muster as appropriate to the job. They tried, at least, to reach for something in the presidency that was beyond their grasp as ordinary human beings. They were not all ennobled by the attempt, but they tried nonetheless. "And comes now this hopeless, vicious buffoon, and the audience of equally hopeless and vicious buffoons who laughed and cheered when he made sport of a woman whose lasting memory of the trauma she suffered is the laughter of the perpetrators. Now he comes, a man swathed in scandal, with no interest beyond what he can put in his pocket and what he can put over on a universe of suckers, and he does something like this while occupying an office that we gave him, and while endowed with a public trust that he dishonors every day he wakes up in the White House. "The scion of a multigenerational criminal enterprise, the parameters of which we are only now beginning to comprehend. A vessel for all the worst elements of the American condition. And a cheap, soulless bully besides. We never have had such a cheap counterfeit of a president* as currently occupies the office. We never have had a president* so completely deserving of scorn and yet so small in the office that it almost seems a waste of time and energy to summon up the requisite contempt. "Watch how a republic dies in the empty eyes of an empty man who feels nothing but his own imaginary greatness, and who cannot find in himself the decency simply to shut up even when it is in his best interest to do so. Presidents don't have to be heroes to be good presidents. They just have to realize that their humanity is our common humanity, and that their political commonwealth is our political commonwealth, too. Watch him behind the seal of the President of the United States. Isn't he a funny man? Isn't what happened to that lady hilarious? Watch the assembled morons cheer. This is the only story now." - Charles Pierce

TRUMP SUPPORTERS: We know you're uncomfortable. Things don't add up. You're conflicted. What you feel is called COGNITIVE DISSONANCE. Please - read this through: I know you voted for Trump because he was going to put America first, with no new wars, lowered prices, better health care, the deporting of the worst of the worst, and the publicly uncovering of the truth about pedophilia among Hollywood and the elite. But you've not seen that. ON THE CONTRARY ... Instead of America first, he financed Argentina, blew up boats in an ocean, and seized the leader of Venezuela. Instead of no new wars, he attacked Iran. Instead of lowering prices, he just tells you they're lower. Instead of offering you better health care, he tries to cut your health care at every turn, telling you he'd rather just give you money and have you deal with it. Instead of deporting the worst, you've learned his deportations are quota-based, that many of the guys carrying them out are criminal goons; you've seen citizens murdered on video, searches without warrants, the bypassing of due process, and even the heads of Border Patrol and DHS both getting shelved. And as for publicly uncovering truth about the pedophilic elite, you KNOW Bondi SAID she had the Epstein files ON HER DESK - and people stood in a circle HOLDING BINDERS - and he transferred a convicted sexual abuser serving 20 years TO A COUNTRY CLUB - and the WSJ, a Murdoch publication, printed a card he sent to Epstein WHICH REFERENCED SECRETS - and he's changed his story FIVE SEPARATE TIMES, obfuscates all the time, appears in the files tens of thousands of times, and panics every time the name Epstein is broached. WE'LL BE STRAIGHT WITH YOU: He was never a builder. He was never competent. He was certainly never conservative. And most of all, he was NEVER "one of you." He is a lifelong criminal whose only skills are committing the con, grabbing the grift, fabricating fraud, and avoiding accountability. And come on now ... "The Apprentice?" It was ONLY A TV SHOW! Stop the defiance, the demonization, and the delusion. Come back to the light. Foreign countries do NOT pay his tariffs - WE DO. Putin started the war in Ukraine WITHOUT PROVOCATION and IS a war criminal. The 2020 election was NOT rigged - 60 lawsuits proved that. And the guy who let Epstein off the first time is Alex Acosta, and Trump rewarded him with a cabinet position - come on! Half the people in Trump's cabinet now, are billionaires - Trump IS the deep state!!! Do you really love America? Then recognize that America is stronger with less tribal disagreement. Open your minds to truth, however unpleasant. You know he's old, you know he's unwell, and you know he's losing it. You know he's personally profiting in the billions. You know America is way better without all this mid-census gerrymandering that he started. That shit should piss YOU off too. And the Save Act is not Voter ID; it's the latest ruse to federalize voter rolls. You know all that I'm saying is true - and THAT'S why you feel the cognitive dissonance. And finally, if you can please try to open your minds to the toughest truth of all, you'll know - the reason the dissonance makes you feel SO uncomfortable and SO conflicted, is because ... you've been played.

It’s about time someone said it out loud on a national news show. Major Gen. Paul Eaton (ret), when asked about Trump’s interest in putting boots on the ground: “I’m going to use the word a lot of people are thinking, and it’s dementia. We have a situation where someone called a malignant narcissist is unfortunately drifting into a state of dementia that is difficult to manage.”
