Mojang is actively trying to make their old spaghetti code better so they can prepare for cool new content in the future that might take a lot of resources and time. It might not be very marketable, and none of it shows up in the creative inventory, but it is WORTH IT in the end.

Most of the main “content” additions to those updates might seem kinda underwhelming, but don’t forget a HUGE majority of the changes in the new snapshots are backend/technical improvements.

(6/6) In the current version of Minecraft, it's not easy to get that texture when building industrial stuff, so I think this would be a really cool way to add more versatility. Let me know what you think. Hopefully this gets added, I really think this would be cool to build with
