Here is what it looks like when birds are “trapped” inside the South Tower beam with a thermal imaging camera. The beams are shut off when too many birds are in the beams, you can pretty much pinpoint when this happens and how quickly birds respond

Q. Is it my imagination or has there been a large increase in the osprey population in my area in just the last month?! I live on the water in Milford. I know that the chicks are probably joining their parents this time of year but they don't look that small.

Find More Birds by changing your route! The Least Sandpiper is a rare visitor to Brooklyn Bridge Park, but when I decided to walk out to the very end of Pier 5, which I rarely do, I found this one foraging in shallow pools of rainwater on the furthest marina platform.😀
