Families deserve transparency, truth and justice for the failures in their children’s care. Those who wish to remain anonymous should have that choice, with measures in place to protect their identity. The Lindsay Tribunal showed that this can be done while still holding a public inquiry. Protecting families’ privacy should never be used as a reason to keep institutional failures behind closed doors.
