Why is your arm hurting? It could be early trunk rotation. 👇
A new 2026 study tracked 339 pro pitchers with 3D motion capture. The ones whose trunk turned BEFORE the front foot landed:
⚾ threw no harder
💥 put about 8% of their bodyweight more force on the elbow, and nearly 10% more on the shoulder
Every pitch. All season.
The 2-second check: film from the side and pause when the front foot lands.
✅ Glove up, chest still closed = on time
❌ Glove down, chest facing the target = early
That's why I invented the Trunk Excelerator. It locks the arm with the shoulders so early rotation can't hide, and you learn to hold the trunk and let the hips lead.

Parents: can your kid throw 90? 🔥
Two numbers predict it, and neither one is his arm.
1️⃣ Body weight
2️⃣ Broad jump
Find his weight on the left, slide across to his broad jump, and that's the fastball his body *should* throw.
Then the important part: compare it to what he *actually* throws.
⬆️ ABOVE the line → his delivery is efficient. Train the body: jump, sprint, lift.
⬇️ BELOW the line → mechanics are leaking velo. Fix the delivery first.
Same body. Same chart. Opposite training plan.
Weight + broad jump explain 66% of the difference in fastball velocity. The other 34% is how he moves.
👇 Comment LINE with weight, broad jump + velo. We'll DM you where he stands, what to train first, and a free 7-day TopVelocity player portal pass.
🔖 Save the chart. ➤ Send it to a teammate.
Data: TopVelocity.org player portal user data. Predicted velo = 23.6 + 0.14 × weight (lb) + 0.30 × broad jump (in), R² = 0.66. Estimates for an average delivery, not guarantees.

Parents: his season starts in 16 weeks. ⏳
You've watched him work. You've driven him to every practice. And you're still not sure if what he's doing is making him better, or just making him tired.
Here's the hard part: start in January and half his offseason is gone.
The research cuts both ways:
✅ In a randomized study, 4 weeks of structured training raised throwing velocity. The group that didn't train went nowhere.
⚠️ Teen pitchers who needed arm surgery were far more likely to have pitched with arm fatigue. Overuse and fatigue were the biggest risk factors.
Cramming velo into February is how arms get tired. Starting now is how they get stronger.
One of our 16-year-olds went 82 → 91.7 mph in 9 weeks. Your son has 16.
That's what the 3X Velocity Camp is for:
1️⃣ Day 1: radar, MechanicsDNA 3D and testing find exactly where his velocity leaks
2️⃣ Day 2: we install the fix and give you a full 1-year plan in the TopVelocity app
Next camp: Nov 14–15 in Covington, LA. 8 athletes max.
Not happy by noon on Day 2? Full refund.

↓ If your elbow hurts after you throw hard, read this.
Your elbow is the last link in the chain. The forearm muscles that sit over your UCL help resist the valgus stress of every pitch, like a seatbelt for the ligament.
The catch: they fatigue. In collegiate pitchers, that muscular "seatbelt" strength dropped about 10% after 7 innings while the stress on the elbow stayed the same, so the ligament carries more of the load late in outings.
After 100 pitches, high school pitchers needed about 24 hours to fully recover that stability.
To be straight with you, the research isn't settled on how much forearm strength protects the ligament itself. What it does build is a forearm that holds up longer late in an outing.
So yes, do these:
1️⃣ Add them to your pre-throw warm-up
2️⃣ 2 x 15 reps each
3️⃣ Slow and controlled. Not fast.
But I wish it was this simple. Arm care alone isn't enough to keep you healthy.
How you throw decides how much load your elbow takes. In adult pitchers, rotating the trunk too early was linked to higher elbow valgus load. No band routine fixes timing.
Submit your video to MechanicsDNA Mini at topvelocity.org and we'll find the real problem.
If something is already sore, that calls for an assessment from a medical professional, not a warm-up.

He touches 96. First day back: 47 on the med ball. 😤
Greyson Parker (2027 RHP, Mandeville, LA, PG All-American) just walked back into TopVelocity and picked up right where he left off.
Med ball velo is the purest test of how well your hips, trunk and arm hand off energy. No arm strength can hide a bad sequence at 47 mph.
What's your med ball PR? 👇

April: 79 mph. Today: 90. 🔥
Bryant Ogando just hit a new flat ground PR. That's +11 mph since his first MechanicsDNA analysis in April.
No shortcuts. Better sequencing, a stronger lower half, and the 3X program, day after day.

A 91 mph fastball isn't one move. It's three. 👇
1️⃣ LINEAR: drive your body down the mound
2️⃣ ROTATIONAL: hips open first, shoulders wait, trunk fires
3️⃣ LINEAR: the front leg blocks and the arm whips through
Here's the problem: in a study of 249 fastballs, only 12% hit the perfect order. When the arm fires out of order, elbow stress went up 21%.
That 3D model is Clayton Evans (91 mph) in MechanicsDNA. Every muscle, every phase, graded on the 20–80 scouting scale.

The GOAT is back. 🐐
Keagan Gillies just ran it up to 50 mph on the med ball… again. The facility record is 51, and he already owns that too.
Med ball velo is the purest test of how well your hips, trunk and arm work together. No arm talent hides a bad sequence at 50 mph.
Can anyone in here touch 51? 👇

The Cubs today claimed RHP Eric Orze off waivers from the Minnesota Twins.

Cubs Claim Eric Orze mlbtraderumors.com/2026/11/c…
Brent Pourciau, Ph.D., M.S. retweeted
CHC already has a solid bullpen foundation ahead of the 2026-27 MLB offseason.
But…claiming Eric Orze doesn’t hurt. His splitter is gross. And the FIP was 3.34 over 41.1 IP in ‘26.
Should benefit from a good Cubs infield.
Brent Pourciau, Ph.D., M.S. retweeted
Eric Orze, claimed by CHC, has one of the filthiest splitters in baseball. He gets extreme drop and run, pairing it with a fastball, slider, and new slurve.
Key for him will be adding velocity; elite release traits and 4S ride, but sitting 93 MPH is limiting his ceiling.
Chicago suburbs native!
Brent Pourciau, Ph.D., M.S. retweeted
Really solid claim here for the Cubs.
Orze throws from a high slot and gets good carry on his fastball, but he really makes his money with a filthy splitter.
Solid stuff with some upside.
Don't finish with the drill.
Drill → throw → review. The drill only counts if it shows up in the throw.
Film both. Watch the whole movement. Then slow it down and check the order: hips → chest → arm.

Last week: 47. Today: 48. 🔥
Clayton Evans just broke his own med ball PR again on the 3X separation throw. That's one mph in one week from a guy who already sits 91 on the mound.
For reference: pro pitcher Eric Orze's best on this throw was 48. Clayton just matched it.
Med ball velo doesn't come from the arm. It comes from the hips firing first while the trunk stays back, then everything releasing at once. Build that and the baseball follows.
