Republicans say that release record connects to Decarlos Brown Jr., charged with fatally stabbing Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska on a Charlotte light-rail train.
Cooperβs campaign denies Brown was freed under that settlement.
State corrections officials have said Brown appeared on the settlement list retroactively and was not released because of it.

Abdul El-Sayed is, without question, the most controversial nominee on the Democrat side. He is an Islamist, a Socialist (denies it), & an absolute snake when it comes to calling out dark money & Super PAC funding. He refuses to disavow the most controversial streamer, Hasan Piker, who he campaigns with regularly, despite his wicked remarks about America deserving 9/11.
