Here is a quick 1 minute clip from "The Masters of Trading" Dan Zanger interview back in 2005.
Dan highlights some very important points which still hold true today and even more so in this current 2025 market.
- Not to be in the market all the time
- Less trading
- Limit exposure ( 3 - 4 positions max)
- Stalk the market and let it set up
- Anticipate 2 - 3 big trend moves per year. ( 8 - 12 weeks per move )
- Let it set up all over again.
Trade less!
A big part of my strategy is concentrated positions and to hit these positions when the deck is stacked in my favor. I talk about this a lot on here but I think this clip sums it up perfectly!
@traderstewie @AOTtrades
The nice thing about the "ghost" trendline on this chart is it actually gets back to a realistic short term price level and not 40% above or below like you usually see ;)
All of the best traders I know have in one or another developed their own styles and strategies by taking bits and pieces from others and morphing it into something that makes the most sense them.
@BornInvestor has done just that. It doesn't happen overnight and you need to put in the work yourself to accomplish it.
He writes about it here in a new guest post on @traderstewie blog.
Check it out when you have time. Its definitely worth the read and might spark some new ideas for yourself!

$AAOI 60 minute
Earlier in the week (Monday) I highlighted this one with a $80 - $90 target. Which ended up playing out yesterday.
Now we're straight back to the scene of the crime. Might be able to take this one for a round 2 next week on a gap down Monday morning.
Bounce back to the $73 - $77 more realistic for the second go though
Beat and 8-1 stock split.
See if it can trade back above $1330 level later this evening $SNDK
1 idea this week posted here $AAOI +20%.
It doesn't matter the environment you're in. Whatever the environment, do what you need to do to stay focused and don't over trade it.
The first set of big names post ERs after the bell tonight. So far we're up 3 days in a row here.
Positive reactions tonight could help $QQQ back through the $730 level for some continued momentum to the upside.
The market is efficient. Your process & focus needs to be too.
You don't need 20 different ideas for the week. You need just a few. Naturally it helps with consistency because you won't have the tendency to just jump into a dozen different things after the first 5 didn't work.
And its bullet points like these, whether I agree or not that will always keep me coming back for more. I'll never delete this app. ahaha!
