Are you as excited as we are to see the new bike lanes and street safety improvements on Cortelyou and Dorchester? Want to see the rest of this long-awaited plan and even more safety improvements? Take a moment to let local council member @CMRitaJoseph and the @NYC_DOT know! ⬇️
Signs went up yesterday for work to start on bus lanes and protected bike lanes on Dekalb!!
This project will speed up buses for thousands of riders every day, and bring important safety benefits to the street.
Excited to see this happening before the weather turns cold!!

We’re glad to see @NYC_DOT proposing bus lanes for the B38 - 18,000 riders per day will see faster trips! 🚌
Back in the spring, local electeds signed a letter in support of improvements to Dekalb and Lafayette. Looking forward to seeing the red carpet rolled out this fall!

Last month, Brooklyn CB2 passed a resolution supporting bus and protected bike lanes on Dekalb & Lafayette Aves to make these streets safer and speed up trips for >18,000(!) daily bus riders.
With strong local support, looking forward to seeing this project completed!
This B38 bus on Lafayette carries many times more people than the cars it waits behind, riders who a deserve fast and predictable commute home.
Bus lanes on Dekalb and Lafayette can't wait!

Bus and bike riders in Bedford-Stuyvesant and Clinton Hill are about to get much faster and safer rides, thanks to the Mamdani administration’s decision to place bus and bike lanes on Dekalb and Lafayette avenues. buff.ly/mnx5Bvq
This fall, the @NYC_DOT plans to install bus and bike lanes on Dekalb and Lafayette, which will speed up bus trips for over 18000 riders daily. Over 1400+ people have signed our petition in support, plus support from all three Council Members and Community Board 2.
We have been pushing for these improvements for years and are thrilled to see it happening. You can show support here by signing our petition: act.transalt.org/a/clinton-h…
This is a great project with strong backing by the community, but we want to make sure the city hears it!

Long overdue! The B38 currently moves at a glacial pace on DeKalb Ave for over 10,000 daily riders, and better bike connections will get cars off the road and make Ft. Greene and HVK parks way more accessible. @NYC_DOT please start implementation ASAP!

Bus lanes on Dekalb/Lafayette will speed up the B38 bus for over 18,000 riders every day, and protected bike lanes will provide a safe east/west route in these neighborhoods.
We thank @CMCrystalHudson and @OsseChi for their support, can't wait to see this rolled out this fall!!

Barriers leftover from Atlantic Antic were in the bike lane south of Flatbush - we moved them, only for a van to illegally park there.
Hopefully @NYC_DOT is able to protect this and between Pacific and Dean soon! The new jersey barriers south of Atlantic are great.
.@NYC_DOT is fixing the infamous Crashland gap in the Ashland Place protected bike lane. But we also need them to fill adjacent crucial gaps in the bike lane network, so we can get to Ashland Pl safely! We are pushing with @CMCrystalHudson and @ShahanaFromBK to make it happen.

The unprotected "bike lane" serves as both overflow parking for the neighborhood's scofflaws, and as a reminder that New York City’s streetscape has been shaped by political power and moneyed interests instead of by the principals of safe design. buff.ly/5rUiFzs
The many shared uses of Ashland Place today:
✅ Movie shoot
✅ Loading zone for @jimmykimmel at @BAM_Brooklyn
✅ Relocated protected bike lane for thousands of people on bikes per day
✅ Birria truck
Putting our street space to work!

With the completion of the bike lane on Ashland Place, we appreciate @BAM_Brooklyn for keeping a safe north/south bike route while still being able to unload their trucks per the @NYC_DOT design. 🚚 🚸 🚲 Glad this block can support events at BAM and thousands of cyclists per day
