Wow! So even @CeodelhiOffice @ECISVEEP didn't know that Chief Minister of Delhi @gupta_rekha was issued an SIR notice? They got to know only after we tweeted it? 🤔 Anyways, Now that ECI has clarified the SIR notice issued to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. We identified her name in the notice list at around 3:30 PM today. Within a few hours, ERO releases a statement saying that her case had been verified and cleared for inclusion in the final electoral roll. We welcome the clarification. However, a few questions remain: Was the exact same procedure followed in this case as it would be for 32.27 lakh ordinary electors who received notices in Delhi? • When was the notice issued and served to Rekha Gupta? • What was the scheduled date of hearing/verification? • When were the required documents submitted? • When was the ERO/BLO verification conducted? • Who disposed of the notice, and when? • Was the case processed on an expedited basis? • Are you saying, all this happened within a span of a few hours? We request the ECI to disclose the actual workflow and timeline followed in this particular case, so there is complete transparency. 32.27 lakh ordinary electors have received SIR notices. Several Prominent electors have received notices. Will the same urgency, verification process and procedural standards now be followed in their cases as well? We are not making an allegation of preferential treatment. We are simply asking for the same process, same scrutiny and same transparency for every elector in India.
