We had a great conversation about journalism, a free press, democracy and elections during the #WorldPressFreedomDay commemoration, ,organized by @Uppareports @Parliament_Ug today.
Representing @UgandaEC , I shared that we consider the media & journalists as critical partners in the electoral process and informed participants that a violence- free, ruled based, and peaceful electoral process guarantees the safety of all actors, including journalists. We should all work towards that goal.
