PPR ORLANDO WK4 GOTW RECAP Lake Nona Arrives! Prep Prospect Report tagged two Orlando Thursday night games as Games of the Week. Both delivered. No. 13 Lake Nona put together the most complete night in program history and flattened No. 3 Edgewater 24-3. Lake Nona is 3-1. Edgewater sits at 2-2. The west side still belongs to the Warriors. The Metro just got a new problem. This was supposed to be Edgewater’s bounce-back from the TFA loss. It became Lake Nona’s coming-out party. The Lions (3-1) held a Super 16 top-three team to a field goal. Edgewater was already without sophomore back Jahmari Hammonds (2029) for a second straight week. Lake Nona’s rebuilt front seven — DT Darren White-Jackson, LB Anthony Moreno, S Charles Woodson Jr., plus transfers S Taebor Williams, DE Mackenzi Aldeus, and LB Jacob Duffy — finished the job. Three second-half stands ended on downs. Elijah Nickerson (2028, QB) returned from a two-game suspension and played like the offense had been waiting on him. Two touchdown passes. A 16-yard rushing score where he shed tacklers to the end zone. Andres Quintero added a 28-yard field goal to make it 24-3 with 1:08 left. PPR ORLANDO WK 4 GOTW RECAP No. 5 West Orange escaped Ocoee 13-12 in the Shield rivalry and stayed unbeaten. Shield Rivalry 🛡️ West Orange 13 Ocoee 12 West Orange Stadium | Winter Garden | Sept. 10 The Shield stayed in Winter Garden by one point and one kick. Ocoee had the plan. The Knights bottled up junior quarterback AJ Chung 8-of-16 for 115 yards after a 12-TD, 0-INT start to the season — and led 12-7 behind touchdown runs from Kamari Shaw and Jeremiah Willson. For three quarters, the visitors looked like the team that was going to snatch the west-side edge.  Then Jayden Ammons (2027, RB) took over. The senior back punched in the game-winner from 34 yards in the third quarter. Caleb Postell had already scored for the Warriors. That was enough. Ocoee still had one last shot: a 40-yard field goal with time expiring. It missed. West Orange 13, Ocoee 12. Coach Geno Thompson credited the Knights’ scheme and admitted his team “made a lot of mistakes.” The record does not care. The Warriors are 4-0. The Shield streak is now four straight close wins.
