I'm proud to lead 256 bipartisan cosponsors in a resolution to designate July as Indian American Heritage Month.
Generations of Indian Americans have helped build and strengthen our country. It's time we honor their contributions and celebrate their enduring legacy.

We will always appreciate @JeniferRajkumarâs tireless advocacy in ensuring Diwali became an official NYC school holiday. đĒ
They told me it was impossible. đĒ
New Yorkers waited decades.
But I led the fight to make Diwali a NYC school holidayâĻand we won!
This is my Diwali gift to the world.
We showed that Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs and Jains are part of the American story.

My family and I were inside our Hindu temple in Aurora when a neo-Nazi tried to carry out a massacre. His rifle jammed.
When anti-Indian racism is laughed off or dismissed as ânot that bad,â we give hatred room to grow.
We can't wait for another attempted massacre to speak out.

My family and I were worshipping at our Hindu temple in Aurora on Sunday when a white supremacist attempted a mass shooting targeting Indian Americans. I'm grateful to those who helped prevent a tragedy, but we must come together to confront the hatred that put so many innocent lives at risk.

Please share widely! This guide is more urgent and relevant today than ever before.
With the recent reports of a thwarted mass shooting plot targeting a Hindu place of worship in Illinois and an attack on a Hindu temple in Ohio just two weeks ago, temple safety and security are more urgent than ever.
Every Hindu should be able to worship without fear. While we are grateful to law enforcement for responding to threats, protecting our mandirs also requires awareness, preparedness, and community vigilance.
HAFâs Temple Safety and Security Guide offers practical steps to help Hindu temples strengthen security and prepare for potential threats.
Please share this resource with your local mandir leadership and community. Preparedness matters, and every temple deserves to be a safe place of worship.

âThe pilot, he was such a hero.â
Israeli journalist Neria Kraus describes the terrifying fight aboard the Israel-bound Flydubai flight, saying the wounded pilot managed to open the cockpit door while fighting off the co-pilot who was stabbing him.
The move gave passengers a chance to rush in, overpower the attacker, and eventually tie him up with headphone wires as other pilots take control of the aircraft. |@AmericaRpts
