When EC tampers with voter lists, polls aren't democratic. We demand not only the resignation of CEC Gyanesh Kumar but also scrapping of SIR, restoration of deleted voters & audit of the software, with re-election in Bihar & Bengal. @ECISVEEP @SpokespersonECI

Police brutality against journalists questioning the Delhi CM is an attack on press freedom. Assaulting them for being Muslim is unacceptable. Is questioning the CM a crime? Is “Khan” a license to be targeted? Communal cops are unfit for public service #India_NHRC #NCWIndia

A woman with valid Indian documents, pushed out of her own country. This is what the SIR exercise risks becoming: statelessness by bureaucratic error. @PMOIndia @ECISVEEP @SupremeCourt_India @MumbaiPolice must intervene and bring back Sahida Fakir home. #JusticeForSahida

The loss that Assam is facing is unfathomable. The government should give immediate grants to rehabilitate the affected people of Assam with dignity. Most importantly, ensure it being dispensed to the actual flood victims #assamfloods #floodvictims #govtactionneeded

Patriotism Cannot Be Enforced Through Imprisonment: Vande Mataram Amendment Raises Serious Constitutional Concerns Muhammad Ashraf, National General Secretary of the Social Democratic Party of India, has expressed grave concern over the passage of the Prevention of Insults to National Honour (Amendment) Bill, 2026, in the Rajya Sabha. Criminalising the intentional prevention or disruption of the singing of Vande Mataram undermines the constitutional guarantees of freedom of expression, freedom of conscience and freedom of religion. Patriotism cannot be legislated or enforced through imprisonment. Love for the nation must arise from conviction, not fear of punishment. India is a plural and secular republic where no citizen should face criminal liability for matters of conscience. Existing laws are sufficient to address public order, making this new offence unnecessary and susceptible to misuse against dissenters. Parliament should prioritise unemployment, inflation, education and public welfare instead of symbolic criminal legislation. SDPI urges the Government to withdraw the amendment and uphold constitutional rights and democratic values.

The brutality by the Delhi Police, against peaceful women protesters and female students is deeply condemnable. Instead of suppressing dissent, the authorities must listen to their voices. #StopPoliceBrutality #StandWithStudents #WomenRights #Democracy

#SDPI #RightToProtest

She was only a little girl. What are Modi's Bhakat trying to prove by intimidating and frightening a child? The BJP seeks to keep people fearful and submissive at home, while abroad it appears willing to go to any lengths, even dancing to the tune of Netanyahu to advance its political interests.

SDPI condemns the use of public universities for RSS ideological expansion under centenary events. Yuva Kumbh programs in DU and Jamia undermine secular education, turning campuses into spaces for political infiltration and communal indoctrination, against constitutional values.
