Do you have Discoid Lupus (DLE)? "The effects of DLE aren't limited to what can be seen on the skin,” says Zhu. “For many people, visible symptoms can influence how they navigate their daily lives, which is why understanding the full patient experience is so important.” DLE currently has few treatment options and no approved targeted therapies, putting people living with the condition in a difficult position with limited options as they manage the impact of DLE on their skin. Even with what's currently available to them, many patients continue to experience ongoing disease activity, recurrent flares, and persistent skin symptoms. Today, on National First Responder Day, we honor the dispatchers, EMTs, paramedics, firefighters, and police who answer the call. When a brain aneurysm ruptures, minutes matter, and first responders are often the reason a survivor’s story continues. Thank you!

340B providers received drugs at prices an estimated $79.5 billion below list prices in 2025. That's quite a discount for a program meant to help vulnerable patients. It's common sense that hospitals should have to account for how they use the financial benefits. forbes.com/sites/sallypipes/…

What is a lupus "flare-up"? If you live with lupus, you probably hear the word flare a lot. And honestly, it is a pretty fitting word. A flare-up is not just “having a bad day.” It is a period when lupus becomes more active and symptoms worsen or new symptoms appear. In scientific terms, lupus disease activity waxes and wanes, meaning it can quiet down for a while and then intensify again, sometimes mildly and sometimes in ways that affect major organs (NIAMS, 2022; NIAMS, 2024). That is why it is called a flare-up in the first place: the disease seems to “flare” above its usual baseline. Learn more here in our blog library: lupusne.org/2026/07/21/what-…
