Reagan also didn't crash the economy, nor does he really get credit for getting inflation under control. The crash, and resulting boom was more from Paul Volcker -- the Fed Chairman appointed by Carter -- who dramatically raised interest rates to get the 70s inflation checked.
In addition to efforts in Iran/Iraq he heavily funded and supplied weapons to the mujahideen in Afghanistan fighting the Russians. Folks that later became al-Qaeda.

Reagan was a zombie like Biden, it was always Rumsfeld and Cheney in the background, Brezinski as well. This was the South American campaign before the middle east stuff with Bush 1, but basically, he's right.
Reagan was the seed-water of today’s GOP MAGA and the Economic disasters and USA Mideast involvement. War makes money for the wealthy. Now we see how inside trading happens within a GOP administration and Govt.
