Muizzu campaigned on #DhiveheengeRaajje slogan but made Maldives into a #FaranjeengeRaajje. Muizzu is a liar and a hypocrite. #EagleHillsOut #AlabbarOut #NoToAyla

IDGAF how attractive the agreement is, how beneficial the terms look, or how many billions are attached to it. Some things are not measured in money. If I believe an interest is complicit in, enabling, or defending genocide and the mass suffering of Palestinians, my answer is nay.

A PNC activist dismissing the fact that Islam prohibits haram tourism, alcohol etc Saying that "our ancestors were more progressive than these", meaning more progressive than those who call to obey Allah and abandon such. Then saying "where would we be today" if we had obeyed Allah in these matters, rather than capitalising on doing haram. What sick hearts.

liyun.yazak.me Existing editors supports Dhivehi but it was never intuitive for me, so I cooked an open source editor that catered for my skill issue. liyun contains templates of Dhivehi documents (letter, invoice, etc) and it also contains Dhivehi spell checker

Layaan (Dhombe), one of the youngest members of our team, started working alongside us on social issues when he was just 20. An exemplary young man who, despite working in the private sector, still makes time to engage in community work and discussions on important social issues. After a lot of convincing, he’s finally joined X @MohdLayaan ! Hope you’ll all give him a warm welcome and show him some support here! 💪🏾

In 2024, Prez @MMuizzu said 2025 would be a housing budget. 2years later, he's announcing 2027 as yet another housing budget Here's what I can find ol about the previous two? - 2025 1.8 billion allocated for housing projects, only 204.5 million was spent. Barely 11% - September this year, Finance Min figures show just 273 million spent on housing Now we're being promised another 3 billion while families are spending most of what they earn just to survive. Too many young people are putting their lives on pause, waiting for affordable homes We deserve to know why money allocated for housing isn't being used. Announce kurevidhaane billions, ekamu kameh veytha eba?

Key changes to the Former Presidents’ Benefits Act, effective since 6 December 2025: 1. Office allowances for former Presidents abolished. 2. Benefits suspended if re-elected President or appointed to another State office. 3. No State-funded security while residing abroad. 4. Former VPs who completed a full term entitled to MVR 30,000/month and healthcare at home and abroad. 5. Benefits for former Presidents/VPs and their spouses suspended upon conviction for crimes committed in office.
After MPs’ salaries, the next petition should address former presidents’ allowances and benefits. It’s time to start this debate. Taxpayers have paid so far Maumoon: 72 million Nasheed: 43 million Waheed: 25 million Yameen: 9 million Solih: 10 million Total: 159 million. These payments will continue, and future former presidents will become eligible too. As a nation, we must ask, can we afford this? Are these allowances proportionate to our economic reality, national income and the living standards of ordinary Maldivians? Public money should reflect public priorities.

Between 2023 and 2026, Maldivian taxpayers have paid former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih 9,545,599.18 in former presidential allowances. That is approximately 6,534 every single day for 4 years straight. As a country, we need to start a serious debate about this. It is not that we believe former presidents should receive no allowances. Rather, how much we pay, how we determine those amounts, and how long we continue paying them must reflect the economic realities of the Maldives.

Between 2013 and 2026, Maldivian taxpayers have paid former President Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan 24,622,500 in former presidential allowances. It is not that we believe former presidents should receive no allowances. We are releasing our politically exposed persons (PEP) database consisting of 15,000+ people. [🔴] DISCLAIMER: This has been an ongoing project for more than six months and we have now reached a point where we cannot expand further with only public data. This is not a comprehensive list of all PEPs in Maldives, and I believe compiling such a list without state/bank resources or unconventional methods is entirely impossible. There is a huge asterisk looming over the entire list, and that is because family records are not public. We assume a person is family (or extended family) of a direct PEP because they are in the same household. For some households this will NOT be accurate as sometimes non-family members are registered under the same household. However, this assumption we are making is a reasonable heuristic when we look at the broader picture. We determine affiliate PEPs through two ways: 1) household members, 2) business partners with unique names We believe this list is reasonably accurate. Being named here is not in any way shape or form an accusation of wrongdoing. If you think you should not be here, please feel free to contact me.
