Avengers World is such an underrated gem, I wish Marvel brought it back (especially during Aaron's run which lacked actual character dynamics) as it was helping flesh out the team so much.

still can’t believe a no bum writer….. coming in to write FOUR issues of the series for a tie-in while the book was already going to be relaunched…. was allowed to kill rumiko in an undignified manner… he was not even the main writer………

In a way, it feels like a Spider-Man book with the Avengers as cast mates while also keeping the plot moving and engaging. Chip's Spidey is great as always. Lot of recent threads seem to be converging here

It's one thing to have Avengers book consisting mostly of characters who already have solos and won't have meaningful development on the team and etc etc, it's another for it to be the ONLY Avengers book. Give readers variety, it's not hard, Bendis and Hickman did it well.

I think the real issue with Zdarsky's Avengers (so far) isn't even bad set-up via Armageddon and Cap or that it seems to be "Spider-Man and David Colton with buddies" but that it's the only Avengers book. If we had another one to contrast it there'd much less of a problem.

Finished the ASM civil war tie ins, and yeah-- JMS wrote the tie ins that had the most negative impact on Iron Man. Everything Millar makes him do in the main book, JMS makes him do 100x worse. Both the characterizations suck, but they're not the same characters at all.

Ok, I was a little surprised to see JMS F4 give Tony some grace (given how horribly he'd been written in these tie ins), and then I found out this issue was actually written by Dwayne McDuffie. Sucks he had to carry over Reed's characterization JMS & Millar left him with tho.
