⚫ Making Boring 100x Better
Boring is radically lowering the cost of tunneling, from $ billions per mile to millions. They even beat the average cost of an above-ground highway!
“It’s a game-changer. Buildings are 3D, which requires transport to be 3D to solve congestion. Many layers of tunnels underground to impedance match to the many floors of buildings above ground.” — @ElonMusk

I made this image from the Tesla Master Plan 3.
This transition will happen. On which side of progress do you want to be?
Take time to read the image and let me know if you have any question
🌍⚡️The transition from today's wasteful economy to a sustainable economy is described in Tesla's Master Plan 3. A must read.

A few interesting notes:
- 64% of energy is currently wasted as heat (so if you have 100 power plants, only 36 of them power useful work!)
- In the future, there will be less waste heat (only 10%)
- In this study, it is assumed 22% more useful work & heat is needed in the future scenario, probably assuming rising demand
- Without this additional demand (comparing apples-to-apples), the world would need to produce only 93PWh/y, compared to 165 today, which is 56% of today's production!
- In the future, there will be significant renewables curtailment (26% of produced energy)
Curtailing renewables means not using available power when it is not needed at a given time (say all batteries are already full and it's noon in the summer). This is necessary, due to building extra capacity to serve peak demand (which is already a practice with the current grid).
@tonyseba calls this Super Power, because soon, industries will learn to use this extra energy, as it comes free. This will reduce the amount of curtailed energy over time.
Even with the assumed 26% of curtailed energy, the sustainable economy is vastly cheaper than the current economy. Looking at the next 20 years, it will cost the world $14T to continue with fossil fuels, or $10T to fully transition to renewables. After this 20-year period, it will still cost trillions to run on fossil fuels, but it will cost almost nothing to run on renewables as the investment has been completed and the sun/wind is free.
All that does not even take into account CO2 emissions, and the impact on health and climate change.

Can nuclear play nicely with renewables? Its steady output doesn't complement fluctuating demand from wind/solar, needing hydro or batteries to balance. Countries like Sweden manage it with hydro, but no grids have a lot of nuclear & a lot of wind or solar without lots of hydro.

RT if you think all schools should get a solar upgrade.

I don't do posts like this very often.. just read it please.
Since I have been home after my redeye flying all night from PHX .. My @Cybertruck and Model Y had received Supervised FSD v13.2.1 while parked, over the air cellular (OTA) for free.
I got in my Cybertruck dead tired from flying all night, and it drove me home 30 minutes on Interstate 95 and Interstate 10 and merged, weaved, passed, and navigated to my driveway without me needing to touch the steering wheel or accelerator pedal at all.
Later in the day, I drove both vehicles to the car wash, to do a side by side comparison. Both vehicles navigated 20 minutes each way without a single intervention or disengagement.
The Model Y is smoother and more mature, the Cybertuck is a bit fatter and slow, but just as smooth.
There are a few small issues to continue and work, but this release is serious. It is not just another wide release. Many will drive this and say .. whoa. when did this happen at Tesla.
For those of you that look to me for signal or noise. This is signal.
@teslasi deserves a lot of credit for the work they have put in to achieve this goal. @aelluswamy is killing it with his leadership style technical expertise.
@elonmusk gets the most credit for putting it all in motion to allow the creators to create. Thank you for doing it.
