The fight against fake news, misinformation/disinformation has taken a twisted turn. What does the rapid development of AI content generation tools mean for us? Are we cooked? Come, let’s talk about it on Saturday, 1st of November 2025. Details on Flyer. @RHumanistOrg

They called him the Akoka Giant. Ayodele Awojobi was a genius and a true polymath: in 1974, the first African to earn a DSc in mechanical engineering at Imperial and UNILAG’s youngest professor in the field at 37. He published on vibration and mechanical waves in the Proceedings of the Royal Society. He built the Autonov 1, a car that could drive forwards or backwards. And he was a fearless activist. He died in 1984, aged just 47, and no one carried his research forward. Work that could have grown into a whole field in Nigeria stopped with him. Too many young Nigerians have never heard his name. That’s why we document stories like his at @thezeitgeistnow. You can’t build on work you don’t know exists. Read the full article: thezeitgeistnow.com/articles…

Funny how I’ve not seen a bad take from this guy. Except for that video where he was laying his hands on the Scottish journalist. Even his statement on the attack on that Jewish synagogue was mostly correct, but a line out of it was taken out of context.
Abdul's response tells you everything you need to know.

Liberals have the misconception that Israel controls America because they don't want to admit that it's the other way around

Muslims like to act like Islam is some immutable hardwired identity like race and ethnicity, whereas It’s just an ideology. A belief system you were not born with, and that you can totally control. One You can just opt in and out of.
you’ll think someone is your friend, next thing you’ll see them writing islamophobic essays 🙂‍↔️🧍‍♂️

“Fans drag” gimmick in 2026? You goto a post and randomly nit pick the negative retarded comments. Ozuor.
Fans drag media personality Toolz after she tweeted about singer Lil Kesh’s new look, jokingly saying she was willing to buy his “secret bottles.” 🤭😂

This is why you don’t use work laptop, work subscriptions, or any work tool at all for personal work.
North Korea stole $6.3 billion from Binance by inviting one of its engineers to a job interview at a company that didn't exist. And the guy didn't even have access to the money. It took them five months and two separate hacks to pull this off. Back in June, an engineer on Binance's wallet team went looking for an AI tool and installed a tampered Homebrew package. Binance caught it, swapped the laptop and reset the passwords. Problem solved, they figured. Except by then the attackers already knew who worked on that team and what each person did. So they went recruiting. In September a different Binance engineer got a message on a real job site from someone calling himself a project director. First round was a video call with a fake HR person, who even shared a social media account full of personal photos so the whole thing felt legit. Second round was with the "CEO," who told him to download a coding assignment onto his work computer. It was loaded with malware nobody had seen before, and Binance's security software missed it completely. Then they waited. On October 20 they used his laptop plus one of Binance's own internal AI tools to get onto two wallet engineers' computers, and one of those engineers had permission to spin up new code on Binance's systems. Nine days later the attackers did exactly that. They ran a script and used an Ethereum feature called EIP-7702 to hand themselves control of a hot wallet, one of the wallets Binance keeps online to process withdrawals. Money started pouring out at 8:05pm UTC. It took Binance four hours to stop it, which works out to more than $25 million a minute. And it took that long because of a safety feature. Binance splits the signing power on those wallets into pieces held by different parties, so no single employee can ever drain one alone. That sounds great until something goes wrong, because it also meant nobody could hit the off switch on their own. For context, the previous record was Bybit's $1.5 billion in February 2025, also North Korea. This one is four times bigger. Binance has already refilled about 98% of it out of its own pocket and says customers won't lose a cent. Binance says it blocked 57 suspected North Korean attacks this year, and the one that got through started with a guy who just wanted a new job.

There was an experiment done where they put an LED watch on someone and it flashed a number too fast for the person to read. Then they suspended them from a rope at height and dropped them randomly. The adrenaline slowed down their perception enough so they could read the watch. I always wondered if in our last moments like this, if our perception of time slows down and we experience much more than people think.

1. More billionaires are associated with less poverty. 2. Increasing billionaires per capita by ten fold lowers poverty by 43 percentage points. 3. Sweden has more billionaires per 10M people than the U.S. (34 vs 30) 4. Correlation is fairly strong (R-squared of 0.6 for two variable cross-section data) 4. Since the graph is only a correlation, what do you think is the cause? 🔗in🧵
