Special dinner celebrating retirement of 4 remarkable colleagues who devoted decades to building our Respiratory Dept at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital into a leading clinical/research centre.
Heartfelt thanks to Profs Phil Thompson, Fiona Lake & Bruce Robinson + Australia’s legendary Nurse Practitioner Sue Morey, for their extraordinary contributions and lasting legacy.
Thx to TARIPH team @NTU_LKCMedicine for hosting Prof Barnes + me: well-organized 2-day Advisory Board program + visits to @TTSH @SingHealthSG @NUHSofficial. TARIPH brings together people across sites/specialities, building a Singapore-wide respiratory research network, working towards better lung care #MedEd

Bendopnea (breathlessness on bending forward) is not only relevant in pleural effusion (as we shown recently) but - in the pilot PASE study - is also common in pneumoThx and correlates with breathlessness. Would be intriguing to explore mechanism #MedEd

- keen to participate to help/advocate/critique

Love hate relationship of Endobronchial Valve (EBV) & Pneumothorax (PTx):
- PTx complicates ~25% of BLVR with EBV; yet
- EBV can treat persistent PTx
