Yay, just what this division needed, another blue chip player.
BREAKING: The #Titans are trading All-Pro DT Jeffrey Simmons to the #Bears, per @TomPelissero. A blockbuster.
You could even debate he’s not top 3 in the division.

That’s really low for Quenton Nelson…
BREAKING: Colts trading guard Quenton Nelson to the Seahawks for a 2027 3rd-round pick and a 2028 5th-round pick.

If Matthew Stafford or Patrick Mahomes threw a no-look ball like this for a TD - while literally tricking the defense into thinking he was gonna throw to a damn tackle - it would be played all over social media and ESPN for 2 weeks.

If Dan was a skinny little nerd people would call him an analytic genius. Instead he is a reckless meathead. He’s one of the best analytical coaches in football
#Lions HC Dan Campbell explains why he went for it on fourth down from his own 24 with the game tied:
“I know what you’re conceding, but I also know without any doubt that we’re getting the ball back with plenty of time to answer and rebut whatever they’ve done. It was really that simple."

A reoccurring theme with Campbell. He’s not a number-cruncher, but his gut instinct often aligns with the analytics. It’s a rare talent that stems from all of his experience as a player and coach.
Despite making the analytically favorable call to go for it on fourth down late in yesterday’s win against the #Packers, Dan Campbell said there was no data involved in his decision-making process.
Just wanted to put the game in Jared Goff’s hands instead of Jordan Love’s.

Great example of why any "analytics vs. gut" debate in sports is misguided. Campbell wasn't using data here, but he was intuitively making the same calculation the models were RE: the clock. This happens a lot with stats capturing things we already value, but now can measure
Dan Campbell was "shocked" to learn analytics models supported his fourth down call – but he said analytics weren't a factor.
"I believed we were gonna get that. I know what you're conceding, but I also know, without any doubt, any question, we are getting the ball back with plenty of time to answer," he said Monday.
