🎯When I bought Nexon ev - it was 500 ev cars a month in whole India.
Today a single dealer might be selling 100 ev cars a month.
The Tata Punch.EV has done what no EV has ever done in India, by clocking over 5,000 monthly sales in October 2026.
The Punch.EV's value proposition seems to resonating with customers. The Punch.EV has been India's best selling electric car for 3 out of 4 months.
Not so long ago, the entire EV market was under 5,000 monthly units.

⚡️Ever heard, "What will happen to an EV after 5 years or after 1L lakh km?"
⚡️Ever heard that NMC batteries are bad? They degrade much faster!!

⚡️Also think after 2.5L kms will he be worried about resale?

EVs that can cover 2.5L KMs with barely any maintenance are called use and throw appliances.
ICE vehicles that consume their entire purchase price in fuel + maintenance for 2L KMs are apparently lifelong possesions.

Kia Sorento Hybrid: no lifetime warranty, even its 8-yr/160k km battery warranty is limited to 1st owner. Why the silence on this? EVs offering LTW with the same ownership-transfer restriction faced heavy criticism especially Tata. Shouldn't the same standards apply to everyone?

True. I document each of my trip, EV or ICE. Honestly it's not about saving that hits me for EVs. And even after traveling almost North of India, and Bhutan, I haven't stopped for a charging break more than 20 -30 odd minutes.
Also those who follow me would know I avoid merging food and charging breaks as it forces food options, which I cannot.
A bigger pack has its advantages.
People are stuck in 2022 regarding EV infra and those are who don't EV in the 1st place.
One recurring challenge in the EV conversation is the endless anti-EV discourse on X. 🤦♂️⚡
🏷️ The Biggest Problem With EVs? The Incessant Anti-EV Cataract & Same loop 🔁 fixation.
🏷️ Some X handles repeatedly engage in the same anti-EV debates (which are in line with Anti-ev Cataract) , often without firsthand experience of owning or living with an EV powertrain.
🏷️ The discussion can become a repetitive I label them as “same loop” 🔁, with the same arguments resurfacing day after day — sometimes seemingly driven more by engagement farming (eF) & impressions than by constructive dialogue
🏷️ A certain section of X handles, who don’t even own an EV powertrain, seem to be stuck in an endless anti-EV loop 🔁.
🏷️ It’s almost as if their day begins with an anti-EV dose or a ritual to boost their impressions on X! 😂
🏷️ Ironically, they end up spending their “precious time” — often hours — pushing the same anti-EV narrative.
🏷️ It hardly helps anyone. Instead, they invite unnecessary toxicity from the EV community, when that time could have been spent planning better avenues for them 🤣🤣 & their energy to come out of there loop 🔁
🏷️ Meanwhile, most fence-sitters and people genuinely considering a BEV have already heard the EV community on X and made their informed choice
🏷️ They don’t necessarily need another round of evangelisation.
🏷️ They need to make a choice based on their own usage, requirements and economics — not someone else’s narrative! 🤣🤣
🏷️ Coming to planning: Every one plans that further planning & execution can save both time and money.
🏷️ Why should it be any different when it comes to owning or driving an EV?
🏷️ Some people are willing to invest 30 minutes of their time to save ₹ X. For others, even that calculation doesn’t make sense. And that’s perfectly fine! What seems extremely valuable to one person may not matter to another.
The point is simple: planning is a choice, not a burden. And it certainly isn’t a waste of time!
The mantra should always be:
✌️ Jio Aur Jeene Do! ✌️
🏷️ Drive an EV, ICE, HEV or whatever suits your needs.
🏷️ You need Plan your journeys if you enjoy optimising time and leave money part
🏷️ Don’t plan if you don’t want to.
🏷️ But why spend hours trying to convince others that their choices are wrong ?
Planning is never a waste of time when it helps you make better decisions! ⚡🚗
P.S. Ironically, I was free during my OPD today and was busy planning my Patiala–Ahmedabad road trip for mid-November! 😂🛣️

MY TAKEAWAY:
✅ Long-distance EV travel in India is already possible.
✅ Running costs can be significantly lower, depending on the vehicle, charging tariff and route.
✅ Charging apps, route planning, overnight AC charging & DC fast chargers can make a major difference.
⚠️ Reliability, charger uptime, power cuts and charging availability in remote or high-altitude regions remain genuine concerns.
The point isn’t that India’s EV infrastructure is perfect. It isn’t.
The point is that calling it “ZERO reliable infrastructure” ignores a growing body of real-world evidence.
⚡ EVs are not for everyone, everywhere, just yet.
But they are already working for far more journeys than many people assume.
