Take a look inside WCK’s meal operation in Urda, Spain.
Today our teams served freshly made paella to the first responders working nonstop at the site of yesterday’s train collision. We set up our paella pans right at the distribution point, so plates go out the moment crews rotate off shift.
We’ve been here around the clock since the first hours after the crash: dinner through the night, coffee and breakfast at dawn, and now a hot meal that tastes like home.

Hoy nuestros equipos han servido paella recién hecha a los efectivos de emergencia que trabajan sin descanso en el lugar del choque de trenes de ayer. Montamos las paelleras justo en el punto de distribución, para que los platos salgan en cuanto los equipos terminan su turno.
Llevamos aquí sin parar desde las primeras horas tras el accidente: cena durante la noche, café y desayuno al amanecer, y ahora un plato caliente que sabe a casa.

Russia’s deadly attack on the Dnipro train station is yet another brutal assault on Ukrainian civilians. It makes abundantly clear that Moscow is not interested in peace.
I extend my deepest condolences to the victims and their families.
At the EU-Canada Summit and the G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Atlanta, I will urge partners to further strengthen our support for Ukraine and advance accountability, including through the Special Tribunal and Claims Commission.
Russia must be held accountable.

Je souhaite exprimer ma profonde reconnaissance à Christine @Lagarde pour son engagement européen et pour l’action déterminée qu’elle a menée à la tête de la banque centrale européenne au service de la stabilité de la zone Euro et de la prospérité de notre Union dans une période jalonnée par de nombreuses crises.
Son parcours nous rappelle que la stabilité n’est jamais acquise : elle se construit par une action résolue, le sens de l’intérêt général et la confiance dans notre avenir commun. Merci pour votre contribution à une Europe forte et résiliente.

I have been informed by Christine Lagarde, President of the European Central Bank, of her intention to step down from her role on 7 February 2027. I respectfully acknowledge her decision.
I would like to thank Madame @Lagarde for her dedication as President of the @ecb since November 2019. Throughout her mandate, she has led the European Central Bank with a strong sense of duty and responsibility. Europe has been well served by her leadership in uncertain times and her unwavering commitment to the European project. Through a global pandemic, a war in Europe, energy crises and inflation shocks, she has provided a steady and determined stewardship, helping to safeguard stability and the resilience of the euro area.
To ensure a smooth transition to the next leadership of the ECB, the process for the appointment of her successor will be initiated today and will proceed without delay, with a view to a timely decision by the European Council acting in its euro area composition, in accordance with the procedure set out in Article 283 (2) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union.

I just had a good phone conversation with Dr Ilija Srdanović.
I congratulated him on the Student List’s election victory in Serbia.
The priority now is to establish Parliament and the new government without delay, through a peaceful transition and in full respect of the election results.
Serbia’s place is in the European Union. We stand ready to support its European path, with a clear focus on the reforms the Serbian people have called for: the rule of law, the fight against corruption and media freedom.

Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine must be brought to an end. Everyone is suffering from its consequences, and no military solution is in sight. The outcome of the war will have a direct impact on the security of Finland and Norway and, more broadly, on the security of Europe as a whole. At this stage, peace will not be achieved by avoiding dialogue; ending the war requires direct discussions. This is in Finland’s interest.
Today, together with Prime Minister of NorwayJonas Gahr Støre, we held a telephone conversation with President of Russia Vladimir Putin. The call was a follow-up to the meeting in Oslo on 20 October. It was prepared in consultation with Ukraine and the United States.
We held the conversation in our capacity as leaders of our respective countries, not as representatives of Europe. It is important for Finland and Norway, as neighbouring countries of Russia, to engage in discussions with Russia based on our own perspectives and principles. We emphasized that our support for Ukraine remains unwavering.
Our objective is to promote a just and lasting peace.
