Clearly @brian_blase learned nothing from Tuesday night. Americans do not support cuts to hospital funding. Calling it "corporate welfare" might sound good as a talking point, but voters saw straight through it.
The most important OBBB reform was limiting Medicaid payments made through health insurers to roughly Medicare rates. This was needed to limit the massive corporate welfare flowing to politically powerful institutions through Medicaid. And 80% of voters support this reform.

Last night, the GOP suffered historic losses in the midterms — but Trump has a moment he can take, just as Bill Clinton did in 1994. Clinton misread the mandate, got whipped in the midterms, but rolled up his sleeves and started working with Republicans. He moved to the center and, two years later, won reelection by wide margins and left office with high approval numbers. Politics is not hard. It’s about making people’s lives better. Once Democrats and Republicans work together to make people’s lives better, America will get better. That is the mandate.

Protecting Medicaid should be a bipartisan issue.
MAGA world signals #Medicaid protectiveness: “Voters clearly want Congress not only to protect Medicaid, but they will reward those who strengthen Medicaid and increase benefits to patients," ⁦- @realDonaldTrump⁩ pollster Jim McLaughlin axios.com/2025/04/23/maga-tr…

Receipts from April 2025. Reversing these cuts and restoring the ACA tax credits must be our top priority. It’s a policy issue with major human consequences if we don’t make this right.
Key takeaways from @JMcLaughlinSTK #Medicaid poll. Voters support reforming the program, but not changing the financing. The data is clear…cuts to Medicaid will cost @HouseGOP the Majority.

There will be lots of takes on what led to last night’s election results across America…but it started snowballing summer 2025 with HR1’s Medicaid cuts. The polling was crystal clear back then and the consequences were grim. @hakeemjeffries is right to make this priority #1.
Replying to @hakeemjeffries
@HakeemJeffries: Democrats should reverse these Medicaid cuts which are going to result in ripping healthcare away from people in rural America, small-town America and urban America. That shouldn't be a partisan thing — it's the right thing to do to protect our community hospitals, rural hospitals and nursing homes so people can get access to high-quality, affordable healthcare. We also need to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits, which have resulted in tens of millions of folks losing healthcare or being forced to pay premiums that have increased by up to $1,000 or more per month. That is unsustainable for working-class and middle-class Americans who are having to bear the brunt of these dramatic increases.

The country is not Far Right and it’s not Far Left. Whichever Party manages to figure that out and govern accordingly will do well!

You amateurs need to stop feeling hopeful. Election Day is not about hope. It's about FEAR. Raw, horrible, cortisol-filled FEAR. And if we win, there is no joy. Only relief. You all disgust me.

I'm hearing turnout is high in some places, and low in others. It is raining in some places, and sunny in others. Some precincts have candidate signs out, and others don't.

People have died in battle to give us the right to vote (my father almost perished during WWII). They have marched, been beaten. Please get informed and vote today. Our country is imperfect. But we have freedom, and Russians, Chinese and Cubans don't. Here's a song for today #lalege #lagov youtube.com/watch?v=nGqMAiSw…

Every word of this. @jmart nails it. “Presidents from both parties have suffered midterm shellackings, but never until 2026 has a president been so single-handedly responsible for the wave that’s about to crash over the GOP.”

There is, I promise you, a campaign manager somewhere in America yelling at a handful of campaign staff and volunteers, “YARD SIGNS, we have to deploy the yard signs!!”

He's right. Cuts to hospitals in the "Big Beautiful Bill" will begin to kick in just as folks prepare to vote in the 2028 election. This issue isn't going away any time soon.
Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) says Republicans are “going to have significant headwinds” because of the Medicaid cuts in the government spending bill that passed Congress, and “it’s really a 10-year impact if you take a look at the original bill,” he adds. “I believe it's going to be very, very challenging,” he says. “We've got our work cut out for us because some of those impacts could also feed right into the 2028 election.”
