If Brooklyn doesn’t land top-4 in the Draft Lottery, this is truly the unluckiest franchise in the sport, historically speaking.

• Deron Williams’ injuries
• Celtics trade, picks don’t slide, Celtics hit on Tatum + Brown
• KD/Harden/Kyrie era — injuries, once in a generation pandemic
• 2025 pick fell to 8, meanwhile the 2024 traded pick to Houston rose to 3.

Seeing depleted rosters like Brooklyn’s, Utah’s and Washington’s while teams like Philadelphia (already with an MVP and multiple All-Stars), San Antonio (multiple All-Star and recent high lottery luck), and Dallas (multiple All-Stars) land top-3 picks just doesn’t bring parity to the sport.
