Vercel is making Next.js Data Cache usage billable.
Data Cache is moving into Runtime Cache.
Your fetch caching and unstable_cache implementations will continue working without code changes.
But reads and writes that were previously free will now be charged after migration.

Cursor says a modified Claude Code extension was available for around 11 hours and potentially reached 5,000 users.
It attempted to collect machine information and install an SSH backdoor.
Reminder: Extensions are executable code, not harmless UI add-ons.
Be careful what you install, especially when AI agents have access to your repositories and secrets.
