My friend bought medicines worth 2,180 yesterday.
She scanned UPI.
Chemist Said: “UPI karoge toh 15 extra lagega madam"
She knew the charge isn't even supposed to start until 15 October.
Still paid.
Why?
Her sick child was waiting at home. She wasn't going to stand there and debate MDR rules with a chemist for 15.
This is the ground reality Nirmala Sitharaman doesn't seem to understand.
Govt can charge merchant 8 rs and announce 50 times that “merchant cannot pass it to customer.”
This is India.
Govt will take 8 rs from merchant and merchant will take 15 rs from customer.
Your Parliament statement won't be standing next to every QR code.
That's why stupid policies designed on paper become even worse when they reach ordinary people.

Today I went to @Revolut Canary Wharf office in London.
Honestly, I felt helpless.
Nearly $28,000 has been restricted since Aug 25. I can’t transfer it, withdraw it, or properly use it to invest.
I went to their office because I genuinely didn’t know what else I could do.
And I still came back with my account restricted.
At some point, you just want access to your own money.
What the actual fuck is this?
“Thank you, friends!
Proud to launch this special song on the birthday of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji.
Created for #SevaSankalpAbhiyan, the song captures Delhi’s youth, the changing face of education and their warmth and affection for Modi Ji.
Kudos to all the young stars for bringing this youthful composition to life.”

How much do these right wing handles lie man?? You hate a state or lie just because you don't like the leader. Real facts. MoUs which were signed include that of Ford, Jabil, Rockwell, Eaton, Visteon, Nokia, Applied Materials, Yield Engineering, Microchip etc many of which are in implementation station. Firms like Nokia, YE, Eaton, Rockwell have even opened or broken ground. MoUs take time to get grounded. Big following doesn't mean you get to lie and get away...😤

A couple of trends I'm seeing across the industry.
Which ones are you observing, that I missed?
Vembu's tweet is a calculated display of deep-seated, generational prejudice.
When you belong to a traditional elite class that spent centuries gatekeeping education, wealth, and power, the very concept of SOCIAL EQUITY feels like an insult.
The DMK's welfare schemes, from the Morning Breakfast Scheme to the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai, did not just alleviate poverty. They shattered the oppressive social hierarchy that his ecosystem has historically thrived on. That is exactly where this chronic, venomous hatred for the Dravidian movement stems from.
It is the classic hypocrisy of the privileged. Corporate tycoons who build their empires on state subsidies, tax exemptions, and public infrastructure suddenly develop a superiority complex when government funds are used to feed marginalized children or empower rural women.
Equating Donald Trump's desperate electoral cash-grab with Tamilnadu’s institutionalized socio-economic empowerment is peak elitist arrogance.
You can build a global tech empire Vembu.. but your mindset clearly remains chained to an exclusionary past.
You do not hate the welfare schemes. You just hate the fact that the oppressed are now sitting at the same table as you. The DMK will continue to dismantle that inherited entitlement, whether your fragile superiority complex likes it or not!

Let me also explain:-
1) We used to have a high savings rate. In the last 10 years, this has gone down.
2) Why we had high savings rate? because people saved in GOLD. This protected them against INR fall.
3) INR has been a massively weak currency in the last 10 years.
4) When people don't save in Gold/Hard assets. This money most moves into Banks or markets (via Mutual Funds).
5) Bank give haircuts to cronies. MF give exits to junior cronies.
6) So of course don't save in gold because we are as honest as Japan.
When it comes to traveling abroad: don't worry about that. In the last 2 years, we have lost 20-30% to even Thai Bhat and Malaysian Ringgit.
So slowly Indians can't even travel to South East Asia anymore (one of the cheapest International destinations).
It is amazing see all these crazy macro explanations.
"If economy is growing at 7.8% why is the PM asking us not to travel abroad, not to buy gold, not to have foreign weddings etc"
Let me explain: East Asian nations (Japan, Taiwan, South Korea and later China) all went through a phase of rapid GDP growth combined with the need to conserve foreign exchange. Here is why that happens.
1. Our economy is growing at a good rate but we still have an import dependence, in both energy and in technology. In fact, the faster the economy grows, the greater the need for both energy and technology inputs.
2. To balance that import dependence, we have to export more and our exports are surging. However, even our exports need advanced technological inputs (precision machines, materials, CPUs, GPUs, advanced software etc) that we need to import today.
3. Catching up in all of these areas takes time, often measured in decades. We have made a good start but we need time.
Look at how long it took East Asia to catch up with the West. Their economies were growing rapidly even as they worked hard to conserve foreign exchange.
That is exactly what our government is trying to do.
Once we gain competence in all the advanced technlogies, and achieve energy independence through renewable energy that we develop the technology for, we would no longer need to conserve foreign exchange.
The situation is similar to a fast growing company that needs capital to grow. So it has to conserve capital to invest in growth. Our nation needs to conserve foreign exchange likewise.
