I can be proud of Georgia voters for electing Keisha Lance Bottoms as the country’s first-ever Black woman as governor and also be reminded of the erasure of Stacey Abrams after her 2022 lost. Murals being painted over, the rewriting of history and ignoring the labor of a Black woman all happened over these past 4 years. I worked on both campaigns in 2018 and 2022 and met so many Georgians who deserved so much more. As we all celebrate the election of Governor-elect Keisha Lance Bottoms, never forget the dedication of Stacey Abrams, every organizer and staffer who imagined what Georgia could become. Georgia voters made history.
