The chance to keep global warming below 1.5°C with no overshoot is gone.
But urgent action can still limit the overshoot and bring warming back to 1.5°C by 2100.
Current policies, however, put the 🌎 on course for up to 2.8°C this century.

I am so so proud of you ❤️👌🏾
Imposter syndrome is when you find yourself on a list of 100 people that includes your idols, like Sir David Attenborough and Mia Mottley. And, also, the King, the Pope, the UN Secretary-General, princes, billionaires and mayors... and you're just a guy from Eastlands Nairobi 🥹

Fun fact: Today is a national holiday in Kenya dedicated to environment activities like planting trees and cleaning streets. A reminder that protecting our planet is something we all have a part in, right where we are 💚🌱🇰🇪

Every human being has equal value. Every single one.
At the United Nations General Assembly, I challenged a world that still decides whose lives deserve protection and whose suffering can be ignored.
No race is superior. No people are disposable. Until we honour that truth, "everywhere is war" remains a warning we have failed to heed.
What the world needs now is love, with the courage to confront injustice and defend our shared humanity.
Love and a little kindness. For everyone.

Why does El Niño bring floods to some countries and drought to others?
El Niño is a natural climate pattern that alters weather worldwide, with impacts that vary by region.

So who told you that you're supposed to have your life figured out?
If the world is learning to see itself differently, so can & should you

Congratulations to the delegation of #Togo 🇹🇬 and the Africa Group on the adoption this morning by the #UNGA of resolution A/80/L.104, “Correct the Map.”
First endorsed by the African Union Assembly in February and officially passed at the United Nations today, this @_AfricanUnion initiative marks a historic step toward accurate and equitable global cartographic representation.
For centuries, the Mercator projection distorted global geography, shrinking Africa to the size of Greenland when our continent is actually 14 times larger. Today’s resolution promotes equal-area maps like Equal Earth across classrooms, media, and international institutions ensuring the world map finally reflects Africa’s true scale, weight, and place in the world.
We sacrificed the planet so the S&P 500 could go up 3%... and called it growth 😔🌍
The planet will keep getting hotter, even with ongoing efforts to slow the temperature rise. But choices exist.
Every fraction of a degree prevented, and every year by which the overshoot period is shortened, will save lives, protect ecosystems, and reduce economic losses.

🌡️ El Niño is firmly established and will intensify into a very strong event in the coming months. WMO forecasts show ~100% likelihood that it will persist through February 2027.

Joseph Nguthiru from Kenya 🇰🇪 really turned a problem into a whole business.
Man took water hyacinth, that same plant choking Lake Naivasha, and flipped it into biodegradable products through his startup HyaPak.
We are talking eco-friendly packaging, seedling bags that literally help trees grow… while creating jobs at the same time.
That’s the part that hits… waste became opportunity, and now it’s solving two problems at once.
