Thanks @_odsc
Another great conference, so let me share what I did
Below is my movie trailer for my talk :)
It links to my slides and workshop exercises.
I had a great audience and lots of good feedback.
I will be presenting again @MLOpsWorld in Austin next month.
Look for some updates on the goals section and context. I think i can improve telling the story for those. (As well as all the new stuff that comes out).

Thank you to Open Data Science Conference (@_odsc) for having me on their podcast to talk about Codex, OpenClaw, Meta's Muse, Instinct, and personal AI Agents as a whole. As we say at @DigitalMeld: Own your operating model, rent your tools.
Your processes matter far more than the tool. Start small, think big. Listen on YouTube - youtube.com/watch?v=XGNw7fy_…
The Personal AI Shift: OpenClaw, Muse, Instinct, and What Comes Next
Personal AI is moving from something you prompt to something you delegate work to.
@BradGroux, Co-Founder and CEO of @DigitalMeld and a former @openclaw maintainer, explains why persistent memory, personal context, connected tools, and automation are becoming as important as the model itself.
His rule of thumb:
“Own your operating model, rent your tools.”
The episode also covers OpenClaw, Meta Muse, Instinct AI, local AI, trust and permissions, enterprise adoption, AGI claims, and what happens when personal agents start acting on our behalf.

"Can you come deliver this talk to our team?"
Why, yes, I would love to. Those are the words I loved to hear after speaking at @_odsc
Yesterday I gave a fire marshal non-compliant talk (every seat taken with folks sitting in the aisles), Beyond Vibe Coding, giving my (vendor/tool agnostic) framework for accelerating coding with agents. I've probably written more code in the last year than in my whole career, and I'll probably be accelerating that.
There's a lot of thirst for this knowledge, and a lot of folks are just winging it.
I'm going to do something about that. Stay tuned.

"Pull movie clips where Brad Pitt is eating a sandwich."
That was the query I used at @_odsc AI West on Tuesday to explain why AI's data layer needs three things at once. It sounds like a silly request, but answering it takes every piece:
- Multimodal storage, because the answer lives in video clips
- A knowledge graph, to connect a person (Brad Pitt) to the clips he appears in
- Vector search, to find the moments that look like someone eating a sandwich
If those live in three separate systems, you end up building a pipeline just to ask one question.
It was a large room, and we broke for lunch right after. People still came up to say this was the challenge they were facing. They asked how much flexibility they have to plug in their own models, and how we're building memory on top of ApertureDB (@ApertureData). That's Aperture Nexus, and it's open source. A few also told me adding text search was a good move.
(The shuttlecraft keeps earning its place.)

A busy week for the iMerit team at @_odsc West 2026! From conversations with the AI community to Brian Smith’s session on building hard benchmarks with academic experts, it was a week of sharing ideas on how to make AI evaluation more rigorous & reliable.

An AI agent company replicated the entire YC batch, 200 companies, in 48 hours.
Your product is not a moat.
Blitzscaling shared its new defensibility test at @_odsc. Here are my takeaways:
1. Proprietary data
Access to data no one else can get. If you do not have it, synthetic data is a weak substitute.
2. Community
A real developer ecosystem or customer community. Hackathons. GitHub stars. People who build with you.
3. Product-led growth
The product spreads on its own, without you pushing every sale.
4. Distribution partner
A partner who can put you in front of everyone. A partner like BlackRock can change your trajectory.
5. Network effects
Every new user, customer, or agent makes the product more valuable for everyone else.
Thank you for sharing, @jowyang
Founders, check yourselves: how many of the 5 do you actually have?

Yesterday, I gave a talk at @_odsc titled "BI Is Dead. Dashboards Aren't."
If AI can analyze data on its own, do we still need dashboards?
Check out my slides for my take on this question and how we're approaching it at Squadbase!

“Occasional auditing of an agentic system is not gonna work. You have to have a real-time audit of this system all the time.”
Our Chief AI Officer @babakatwork joined @sheamusmcgov on the @_odsc Ai X Podcast to explain why isolated model testing fails to address the real risks of multi-agent populations.
When agents are forming alliances, rebelling against authority, and simulating famine inside our TerraLingua sandbox, continuous monitoring before deployment becomes a baseline requirement.

yo, today I’m talking about software factories at @_odsc
For those who haven’t figured it out yet, I’m a bit obsessed with the topic.
See you there!

AI’s data layer needs three things at once: vector search for what looks similar, a knowledge graph for how things connect, and multimodal storage for text, documents, images, and video.
The design decisions behind it, at @_odsc AI West. Tue Oct 27, 12:35 PM. Attending? DM me.
This week at ODSC AI West, Samraj Moorjani (@databricks) is giving a 30-min demo on Hidden Gems in Agent Traces.
Traces show what the agent did. The talk is about what you do next: find repeating failure modes, auto-detect them across a large volume of traces, and check the fix with evals you can rerun. All in open source MLflow.

Prior-data-fitted networks train once on simulated data, then return a posterior in one pass.
Carlos Trujillo will show how MFM brings this to marketing mix modeling, and where it falls short, at @_odsc AI West, Wed 28 Oct, 4:05 PM
Reply "MFM" to hear when we open-source it.
