🚨 One of SilentNET's victims reached out to us after our report. Their tip led us to a live distribution site. A YouTube "DonutSMP cheat client" video sends Minecraft players to mc-modhub[.]netlify[.]app, a fake mod hub serving 11 trojanized clients. Updated analysis + IOCs 👇🏻
Our research team analyzed SilentNET, a Java-based infostealer sold as a service and spread through trojanized Minecraft mods and malicious ads. It reads its C2 address from a Polygon smart contract (EtherHiding) and resolves hostnames over DNS-over-HTTPS.
Key takeaway: the loader had 0/64 detections on VirusTotal, while Threat.Zone flagged it as Malicious (91/100) based on behavior. It swept credentials and cookies from Chrome, Edge and Firefox, plus crypto wallets and FileZilla data, in about two seconds. Stolen session cookies can be used to bypass MFA.
This case again shows why real dynamic analysis is crucial for SOC teams.

Bir süredir kendi yazdığım Android uygulamalarını kırmaya çalışıyorum. Fikir basitti aslında, telefona yüklenen bir uygulamanın içine saklanan şifrelerin ve kontrollerin ne kadar kolay bulunabildiğini kendi gözümle görmek istedim. 12 bölümlük bir seri çıktı ortaya, 9'u hazır. En çok da kendi hazırladığım bölümleri test ederken öğrendim; birkaçında koyduğum bulmacanın hiçbir işe yaramadığını, bayrağın tek bir komutla çıktığını fark ettim ve geri dönüp düzelttim.
