The story was made public in 2017 by Clooney’s friend Rande Gerber, who was at the dinner. He said Clooney invited the group over, then wheeled in the suitcases one by one. Gerber said he tried to turn the money down, but Clooney told him that if he didn’t take it, no one would. Clooney also reportedly paid the taxes on all of the gifts, so his friends wouldn’t owe anything. Clooney later confirmed the story. He said many of the friends had helped him when he was broke and struggling as a young actor in Los Angeles in the 1980s, and that some of them were going through hard times of their own. The total gift came to $14 million. Clooney could afford it. In 2013, he co-founded the tequila brand Casamigos with Rande Gerber and businessman Mike Meldman. If you have one of these devices listening on the internet and are expecting mTLS to protect it from attackers, take it offline or patch asap. - OpenSSL Certificate Revocation Lists (CRLs) are not enforced, meaning if a user device is stolen or compromised, and you revoke that mTLS cert, nothing actually happens.
