Reading that Danny Boyle refused to used the official Olympic Broadcast Services cameras for #London2012 #OpeningCeremony - aside from for the athletes parade - and insisted on BBC cameras, who were in rehearsal for weeks. This showed tonight; rain aside, it felt unrehearsed.

It’s that time of the year when teachers around the U.K. get wound up by watching this knobhead and his flagrant disregard for health & safety rules.

Kirk, crackers are a family food. Happy families. Maybe single people eat crackers. We don't know. Frankly, we don't want to know. It's a market we can do without. #Simpsons

Just seen that Graeme Souness has left punditry. Just a brief story about how he was brilliant to a young Granada TV sports reporter who wasn't very good at his job:

Today is the tenth anniversary of me opening up Football Manager 2013 and starting a new game with Dynamo Dresden. I could never have imagined where that decision would take me over the following decade...

If I hear "Will Still" and "doesn't have his UEFA Pro License" one more time I'm going to scream.

While researching questions for a game show in '90 we found awesomely obscure fact that telephone inventor Alexander Graham Bell preferred "Ahoy" as a greeting over Thomas Edison's "Hello" and did so 'til his dying day Won't you keep Ahoy-hoy alive by using it on your next call?
Mr. Burns answers the phone by saying "Ahoy, hoy!", which was suggested by Alexander Graham Bell to be used as the proper telephone answer when the telephone was first invented. (He has done this pretty consistently since this episode.)

The best thing in the Macdonalds' ad is Edgar Wright, watch the first Harlem Shuffle sequence in Baby Driver for synching action to music, then watch NINE logo mnemonics synched to the music in this ad

Trying to write a piece about Bale for the Guardian. Impossible to distill into 1000 words. I’ve got to his second goal for Wales in 2007 and am on 822 words already. He was a titan. Colossal. I actually think he changed the country. We were lucky to have him.
