Adam Azim, Mayor of Male’ City

And a special thank you to these wonderful children. Their kindness, compassion, and willingness to care for others is truly inspiring. They remind us that the values we want in our city begin with how we teach and raise our children. These are the moments that remind me of the kind of city I dream of building — a city where people care for one another, where kindness is valued, and where no one feels forgotten or alone. This is the kind of Malé I want to work for: a city filled with kindness, compassion, care, and love. Proud of these children. They are showing us the Malé City we should all aspire to build. ❤️🇲🇻

Honoured that Malé City has been selected to host the 2027 UCLG ASPAC Executive Bureau Meeting for the first time. This is a significant milestone for our city and a reflection of Malé’s growing engagement and role within the international local government community. We look forward to welcoming mayors, local government leaders and partners from across the Asia-Pacific to Malé, providing an opportunity to strengthen regional cooperation, exchange ideas and build meaningful partnerships for sustainable and resilient cities. We are proud to bring this important regional gathering to the Maldives and to ensure that the voices and priorities of small island cities continue to be heard on the international stage. A proud moment for Malé and the Maldives! @uclgaspac @uclg_org.
