🕊 Returning the Names is almost here
Every year, people gather to read aloud the names of those executed during Soviet terror, remembering the people behind the names and expressing solidarity with political prisoners today.
First organised by Memorial nearly 20 years ago, Returning the Names now brings together people around the world. In 2025, readings took place in 150 cities.
This year, readings will take place across Europe, North and South America, Asia and Australia — and, for the first time, in an Arab country.
Most are organised by independent activists. Here are a few hosted by Memorial organisations:
