And this is a perfectly valid question. This particular strain of adulthood comes with its own arsenal of spark-killers. Everything seems hell-bent on dimming the light in one’s eyes. Unless one’s pursuit of wonder is dogged and defiant, there is every chance of slowly losing one’s capacity for enchantment.

Throwback to the time I was at the Art Institute of Chicago and a random woman grabbed me by the arm and said “oh my god there’s a painting that looks just like you” and dragged me through the museum to this. To humor her I posed in front of it. People gathered to take pictures.
