It is estimated that just 'Allies bombing Germany' used over 2 million tons of high-explosive ordnance. Europe is just way too big to one-shot and capitulate before the new stuff breaks and it essentially becomes 1940s Europe vs ~1970s Africa
During the Oil Plan the Allies dropped *200,000 tons* of ordnance on German oilfields/refineries/rubber plants. This isn't something you just knock out with a few dozen F-16 sorties
I don't know why we're restricting them to internal fuel. With external fuel tanks and a standard combat load, you're looking at 900 miles. Lighten the load, and the combat radius gets closer to 1,100 miles. They won't do as much damage per sortie, but you're getting more reach.
The standard load puts the Romanian and Baku oil fields within reach. The lighter load also brings Germany's synthetic refineries and the Polish oil fields in Galicia within range. Taking those out would eliminate nearly 90% of all oil sources.
