Game 7 on Halloween will be the second winner-take-all WNBA Finals game in three years.
This will be the 14th winner-take-all Finals game. The home team won 11 of the previous 13.
Final from State Farm Arena:
Atlanta 80, Golden State 69.
Folks, we're heading back to San Francisco for the best two words in sports.
Game. 7.

Dream played with a level of confidence and swagger that was lacking in the last two games, and they lead 46-26 at the half.
Allisha Gray and Rhyne Howard have been the scoring power, combining for 21 points. Angel Reese has scored or assisted on 20 Dream points (7 points, 13 assists).

Meanwhile, Atlanta’s 32 points in the first time the Valkyries have allowed at least 30 points in the first quarter in franchise history…
The Atlanta Dream made six 3-pointers (6-8) in the first quarter, more than they made in Game 4 (4) and as many as they made in all of Game 5.
Their 32 points in the first quarter are more than the Dream had the entire first half of Game 5 (22).
32-15, ATL, end Q1.

Angel Reese: "We have no doubt. I have no doubt that this team will come back and fight back and win this Game 6 and then move on from it."

One thing to clarity: I’m told ‘26 playoff holds were sent to teams on Dec. 4, 2025. My understanding is teams wouldn’t have tip times for games, but would have the dates of playoff games
A headline that would have seemed inconceivable two years ago:

Both teams look EXHAUSTED in the first half of GM 5. One day between games just isn’t enough to recover. I like the finals being 7 games, but there needs to be more off days between games in the future or the basketball will continue to look like this. 25-22 at the half.

KEEP IT AWAY FROM KIAH!!
Kiah Stokes has been the anchor on defense for the Valkyries, as the Dream are shooting just 9-48 (0-8 3-pt FG) when contested by Stokes in the WNBA Finals 💪

Burton and Stokes recommend folks call in sick to work Thursday to watch the 9:30 a.m. tipoff on Thursday.
"Y'all know how to fake cough," Stokes said.

What a two-way impact from Kiah Stokes: Atlanta shot 1-7 (0-1 3-pt FG) when she contested the shot. On offense, she went 3-3 on open shots, including 2-2 from 3 and tied her season-high with 13 points.
The Golden State Valkyries take Game 5, 64-55, and are one victory away from winning a WNBA championship in only their second season.
Valks held Dream to a season-low 29.2% FG. Kiah Stokes was unbelievable with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks. Three others in double figures for GS.
Game 6 back in Atlanta Thursday afternoon with the Dream's season on the line.
