Something really interesting is happening in the 🇨🇦economy. Canadians are paying down debt and starting to save money even though interest rates at almost zero. This usually happens when there's a financial asset price bubble; in case of 🇨🇦, it's the housing bubble.

Shopping on muse and instinct sucks. Buying is visual, you explore, understand the product etc. it’s way better discovery tool for me than shopping tool. I rather go to their website. I spent 5 mins asking it to get me the shipping details and if there are bulk shipping discounts
Ban on slop incoming. As Tobi says, no more slop grenades please.
Wow... the legal profession’s pushback on AI is starting to get a lot more serious. 👀
And this one is very interesting.
A Florida lawyer is facing possible sanctions for suspected AI use even though there were no fake cases or hallucinated citations.
The cases were real. The citations were real.
The court’s issue was basically: did a lawyer actually think through and write this?
In Lisandrillo v. Palozzi, the 4th DCA tore into a series of filings in a divorce/custody case, calling them unfocused, scattershot and, at points, basically gibberish.
Judge Robert Gross wrote:
“An AI supercomputer would struggle to find meaning in some of the prose used in this case.”
The court suspected the filings had been put together using AI instead of through the lawyer’s own independent professional judgment.
It then ordered the lawyer to explain within 10 days, specifically WITHOUT USING AI, why she shouldn’t be sanctioned or referred to The Florida Bar.
The lawyer has publicly denied using AI to generate the filings.
The underlying message from the court seems pretty clear:
Using AI isn’t a defense for bad lawyering, and even technically accurate AI-assisted work can become a problem if it looks like nobody exercised actual legal judgment.
I think we’re going to see a lot more of this.
The legal profession is starting to push back on AI use in a much more fundamental way than just “don’t hallucinate cases”!
Listening to @tconrad, I want to buy Sonos stock. Didn’t buy the home theatre because I had lost trust in the company before and now regretting it a bit but want to see Sonos 27 play out before shelling the money out. Been burned before. Tom, you’re an incredible story teller!

Chapman's Ice Cream has just done something EVERY Canadian should know.
The largest ice cream company in Canada used to source fruit and nuts from American suppliers — for some, for over 30 years. Then, Trump imposed a 25% tariff on Canadian products.
So, what did Chapman's do?
📷 They called Italy.
📷 They called Spain.
📷 They signed multi-year contracts with European suppliers.
And the vice president said it perfectly:
"Even if Trump wakes up smarter than yesterday, we're about to sign long-term deals with other countries — and the American companies that supply them will have nothing but their eyes to cry for."
Oh, and on top of ALL that? They're COLDing their prices so that the average Canadian doesn't have to spend a single cent more.
It's a family business. No shareholders. Just the Chapman family saying: "The least we can do is make sure Canadians still have the means to buy ice cream."
That's what Canadian pride looks like.
Next time you're at the grocery store — grab some Chapman's.
Every scoop of ice cream is a vote for Canada.
Hey @pipedrive... why the heck would you auto enroll me into your shitty ass new note taker?!? and make me opt out instead of opt in?! 100% leaving you this month. I hate these business practices.
The best thing for legaltech is if @harvey @WeAreLegora @SpellbookLegal and all come together to create an open source version of Lexis and Westlaw. Get everyone to contribute and open a free mcp.
If you could buy equity in the these legaltech companies:
1. Harvey
2. Legora
3. Clio
4. Spellbook
Which one will you buy at the current pricing and why?

this is super gross and wrong.
there is nothing Canadian about this “bbq”.
This weekend, a group is organizing a "Great Canadian BBQ" beside a mosque in Regina that was harassed and criticized simply for broadcasting the Islamic call to prayer.
The event is clearly planned to intimidate and mock the mosque and its congregants. It is, for instance, a "pork only" event.
This kind of Islamophobia is what preceded the Quebec City mosque shooting, where Islamophobes sent pig heads to the mosque.
We call on all leaders to denounce this event and to acknowledge that this form of Islamophobic intimidation is dangerous.
It is time for all leaders to work together with community members in Regina and beyond on a plan to address the current rise in Islamophobia across Canada.
One of the big reasons i left mtl; I was stopped constantly by police there and it felt weird coming from Toronto. Never made sense to me when they would ask questions like "where are you going and why"
