If there’s one street worth pedestrianizing in the Loop, it’s LaSalle. Because LaSalle effectively ends in a dead end, converting it into a pedestrian street would create a welcome green respite for workers in the offices along Wacker without the significant adverse effects on traffic that pedestrianizing Michigan or State would cause. Helmut Jahn’s studio recently produced a concept for the idea, featuring a dramatic pedestrian bridge over W. Wacker Drive that connect it directly to the Riverwalk.
