Personally, I think it’s loser behavior when someone shares a theory based on the perspective they’ve seen, and the entire fandom jumps them because they “know” what happened from everyone else’s perspective. Like, congratulations on knowing more lore, I guess? But does that mean people aren’t allowed to theorize based on what they know so far? Not everyone consumes a story the same way, and not everyone has access to every character’s perspective. That’s literally part of the fun of theorizing. You take what you know, interpret it, connect the dots, and come up with possibilities. A theory doesn’t have to be 100% correct to be worth discussing. What bothers me is how people turn knowing more about the story into some kind of superiority complex, treating fans who have a different interpretation like they’re stupid for not knowing what they know. Instead of encouraging discussion, you’re basically punishing people for being curious and creative. You’re not protecting the fandom by shutting down theories. You’re taking away people’s freedom to interpret, question, and imagine. Let people cook. Correct them if you want, add context if you have it, but dogpiling someone for having a theory based on a limited perspective? That’s genuinely embarrassing behavior.
