"Never stay up on the barren heights of cleverness, but come down into the green valleys of silliness."
There are so many fundede AI game platform startups, but none are as close to Getting It as spawn.co imo

Miyamoto believes AI will not make human creativity obsolete:
“Looking back at past designs, there are some that were created merely by copying and pasting. Yet, such work rarely stands the test of time; it lacks the individual’s particular design intention.
Because the process relies on an individual’s intent, with the computer serving as an assistant for the labor, I believe that even as technology continues to evolve, and even if AI were to eventually handle everything, there will always be a role left for us to play.”

Three times a year, indie game developers and fans eagerly await Steam Next Fest. It's a week-long festival of game demos.
It's often where first-time game developers are discovered. Some major hits (eg, Balatro) came out of viral Next Fest launches.
This week's Next Fest is the biggest yet, with 7,236 demos. I built a little project to browse them. Check it out!

People forget how bad asset flips were on Steam.
The Unity splash screen hurt a game more than an AI disclosure does today. Players saw it and quit on the spot.
One dev shipped 173 games, they were so bad Valve called it "fake games".

I played this at Tokyo Game Show and thought it was so cool. Definitely worth a check this Next Fest.
Game devs say things like this thinking it protects artists by shaming devs into hiring them.
What it actually does is result in fewer games being made. And fewer projects for artists to contribute to.

Past month has been brutally hard for the anti-AI contingent in games. I think the AI wars in games are pretty much over tbh
(Predictably, AI won.)

Kenneys assets are amazing and a huge contribution to the indie developer community.
