Many Western leftists and university activists mistakenly see Palestinian-Arabs as an oppressed minority that desperately needs their support. In reality, Palestinian-Arabs are neither oppressed nor a minority, nor do they need further material support. They are not persecuted or voiceless: Their political-military movement has repeatedly rejected offers for a two-state solution since the 1920s. Instead, they’ve opted to destroy Israel and replace it with an entity that would be the 23rd Arab state. They’re not a minority; Palestinian-Arabs are part of the massive, millions-strong Arab empire and the 1.2 billion-strong Muslim nation, known in Arabic as the "ummah." They’re not impoverished or ignored either; the UN, and the US, as well as various Arab regimes, international organizations, and individuals have granted Palestinian-Arab organizations billions of dollars throughout the decades. Their leaders are super wealthy and have stashed much of that aid in their personal Swiss bank accounts. With all that money and resources, they could have established a Singapore-like, prosperous country in Gaza and lived in peace, side-by-side with Israel. But instead, they chose to establish a terrorist entity, built terror tunnels, turned their schools and hospitals into military bases, indoctrinated their people in Jew-hatred, used their people as human shields, and finally invaded Israel on October 7 and committed a horrific massacre, kidnapping innocent people including babies, children, and grandparents. Whatever predicament Palestinian-Arabs are in right now, they themselves have created it. They have no one else to blame but themselves. For all these reasons, it would be much wiser and meaningful for human rights advocates to spend their time, energy and resources to help other communities across the world who are truly oppressed, persecuted, silenced, ignored, and forgotten.
