lando said he was running a mix of the old and new upgrade parts, rather than the full updated package. he'll have the complete upgrade package on the car from tomorrow!
"FP1 was a little bit of a surprise, a pleasant surprise. even though i had half and half, and we're going to put everything together for tomorrow, the upgrades also seem to have given what we hoped for, i would say.
ultimately the upgrades are there to just bring lap time and bring performance. they're not set out just to improve handling. a perfect upgrade is one that kind of brings lap time and at the same time brings a handling upgrade, especially with how tricky the car's been.
i would say maybe there's a small change in the right direction, that it seems just a little bit more straightforward to drive. but i don't think we can ever judge things over just one track."

lando on what being a world champion means to him:
"i don't think physically it really does anything, but the mentality side, the feeling of going out there, knowing that i'm a world champion, knowing that i'm on not a long list, but a list of unbelievable drivers and drivers that i looked up to when i was a child, the honour of seeing my name alongside max and lewis and so many of the people that have made the sport such a success, that makes you feel special."

Lando Norris on Lewis Hamilton's 400th Grand Prix: "I think it's a pretty incredible achievement for him to fight for this long. He's a good inspiration for many of us. When I look at Lewis, he makes me not very happy to have only won one championship, but that's in a good way that i can look at him and see him and his age, his form, and makes me believe more than ever that i could fight for many, many more years, and that's something I look forward to doing."
