Upperclassmen It's your team. Your job is to be a leader. Help the younger guys. Your role is not to be the cool guy that makes the underclassmen miserable. Represent yourself, your parents, your coaches, and your program the right way. Show the underclassmen they can trust you. Your team will either overachieve or underachieve because of your ability or inability to lead. Immature selfish upperclassmen destroy teams and programs.

I would rather see a player enter February: 10% stronger. Noticeably faster. Moving better. Throwing better. With one major weakness improved. Than tell me he played 27 fall games and won three rings. Fall trophies disappear. Development carries forward.

If your player just finished spring baseball and a heavy summer schedule, your first question should NOT be: “What tournament are we playing next?” Ask: “What does he need to become better by February?” That question changes the entire fall.
