Since @BrewDog announced the abandonment of the real living wage 2 weeks ago, we have been inundated with testimonies from members about the impact of this & how the company has treated workers organising to collectively challenge the decision Here are the first of their quotes: – at Thornliebank, Scotland

“They cannot possibly sustain the levels of tips they are expected to collect to subsidise the poor wages of the kitchen and bar team.” Let us be clear. This policy from @MillerandCarter is about forcing one group of low-paid waiters to subsidise the other through tips.

A week ago, 80% of workers at @MillerandCarter in both Cardiff restaurants sent a collective grievance to the CEO of Mitchells and Butlers about an unfair tipping policy. Within days, their hours were cut by up to 60%. This is trade union victimisation pure and simple.
